Some dogs find grooming quite stressful, and the blow dryer can be a particular source of anxiety. The noise and sensation of the air can be overwhelming for some dogs. 🐾

Thankfully, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Bailey! 😁💤

Whilst we will need him to stand up at some point so we can dry those legs, for now we’re just happy to see him feeling so comfortable and relaxed. ❤️

So, we’ll happily work around his little snooze for as long as we can! 🥰🐶

After all, grooming should always be as positive and stress-free an experience as possible. 🐾💕

🐾 Can you guess Winston’s breed? 🐾

It’s a little bit of a trick question, as Winston isn’t sporting his traditional breed standard trim!

Instead, we’ve taken inspiration from the breed standard and softened things up a little to create a look that’s uniquely his. We’ve ditched the skirt and opted for a softer, more rounded muzzle, taking away some of that famously stern terrier expression.

The result? A look that perfectly suits Winston’s playful, loving personality! ❤️

We absolutely love working with breed standard trims, but there’s something so rewarding about getting creative and adapting them to suit the individual dog.

After all, grooming isn’t just about the breed, it’s about the personality behind that gorgeous face! ✂️🐶

🐾 BIG MAC IN DA HOUSE! 🐾💙

Everybody meet the gorgeous Big Mac! 😍🐶

Now, this great big lad isn’t an XL Bully, but due to his size and appearance, he falls under the legislation. Sadly, this means many groomers aren’t able to offer him their services.

But luckily, at Only Dogs, we have specialist insurance that means we can! 🙌🐾

And boy, are we glad we do! Because this handsome chunk is every bit as sweet as he is big! 🥹💙

Big Mac was such a brave boy for his groom, and we managed to get LOTS of loose hair out of that coat — hopefully saving his mum’s sofa from a little extra fluff! 😂

He’s now gone home looking fabulous and smelling just as sweet as his personality! 🛁✨

This lovely little floof ball would much rather be getting grotty than getting groomed! 😂🐶

But the moment Miss Bibby steps off the table, all white, fluffy and fabulous again, you can practically see her sass return! 💁‍♀️🤍

She KNOWS she looks good, and that little tail sashays with every step as if she’s walking her own personal catwalk! ✨

Not every dog loves the grooming process, but there’s something to be said for how much better they can feel when they’re clean, comfortable and tangle-free.

And with little divas like Miss Bibby, you don’t just see the difference in their coat… you see it in their whole demeanour! 🥹💕

🐾 An unusual groom… even for us! 🐾

Now, we might be dog groomers, but first and foremost, we’re dog lovers! ❤️🐶

With years of experience in dog handling, behaviour and all things canine, there aren’t many dog-related questions we can’t help with!

So, when a lovely gentleman popped in recently and started with, “This might be the stupidest question you’ve ever been asked…” we were all ears! 👂🐾

Turns out, he didn’t actually need a dog grooming at all!

Instead, he had an absolutely enormous dog bed and no idea how on earth he was supposed to wash it! 😂

And honestly, that’s not a stupid question at all!

So, we happily took on the challenge, managed to wrestle the covers off, popped them through the wash and got everything lovely and clean.

One giant dog bed, freshly washed, dried and ready for its four-legged owners to enjoy a good night’s sleep! 💤🐕

Are we planning on opening a doggy laundry service anytime soon? Probably not! 😂

But are we always happy to help where we can? Absolutely! ❤️

And if that means saving your own washing machine from a mountain of dog hair, then we’re happy to lend a hand!

Because to us, it’s never just about grooming dogs. It’s about helping dogs and the people who love them. 🐾❤️

We’re back from our holidays! ☀️🍹🐾

We’ve had the loveliest time away, although we can’t say we’ve particularly enjoyed coming back to a very wintry Lingfield! 🥶 We’re sure the sun was still shining when we left?!

It’s taking our fingers a little while to remember how to hold combs instead of cocktails, and we’re still getting used to swapping sun loungers for scissors! ✂️🍸

But we’ve absolutely loved being back and welcoming all our lovely customers through the door again. ❤️

And what a joy it was to have this happy little soul as our first doggy back! 🥹

Jax is quite literally the definition of a dog overflowing with good vibes! He loves a cuddle, brings sunshine wherever he goes, and we’re fairly certain that wagging tail could single-handedly power a small town! 😂🐾

A little appointment update! 🐶

We’re fully booked for this week, but we do have the odd space available next week, so pop us a message if your pup is in need of a pamper.

And yes, we’ve officially opened our Christmas booking list! 🎅🏻🎄 We know, we know… but those festive appointments do fill up quickly, so if you need a particular date, please get in early!

Our trainee Keeley has already learned the most important part of the job… playtime! 🐾💕

When young pups come in for their grooms, we always make sure there’s plenty of time for play before, during and after their makeover. 🛁✂️

It gives them a chance to shake off any stress from having to stand still for so long, build their confidence, and most importantly, learn that the salon is a fun and happy place to be! 🐶✨

Because grooming should be about more than just looking good — we want every pup to leave with a wagging tail too! 💕

🏆 Today’s Big Brave Boy Award goes to this little guy! 🐾❤️

Dobby came to us after his previous groomer was unable to finish his groom. His mum was understandably worried, as his nails were getting long and he had developed some rather Grinch-like feet — and she warned us that his previous groomer had been unable to get anywhere near them.

Well… after a few minutes of play to show Dobby that we meant him no harm, followed by a lovely warm bath in a specialist sensitive-skin shampoo for the itching we’d been told he suffers with, a nice floof-fluffing blow-dry and brush-out… he was an absolute superstar! 🌟

He let us trim his nails and carefully shave out those Grinch feet, and he was solid as a rock from start to finish. 🥰

Sometimes, the environment can play a huge part in a dog’s emotional responses. Our big open windows give the dogs plenty to look at while they’re being groomed — watching the world go by can provide a lovely distraction, helping them focus less on what we’re doing and feel less anxious.

We have so many customers come to us in despair because they believe their dog is “ungroomable.”

Well… we’ve not failed yet! 🤞🤞🐶

Well done, Dobby! You were an absolute superstar. ❤️
