🐶 Is your dog between 8 and 14 months and suddenly matting like crazy?

ere's what's happening — and it's not your fault.

Between 8 and 14 months, most doodle breeds go through the coat change. Their soft puppy coat gets replaced by a denser adult coat — and for a few months, both grow through each other at the same time.

The result? Your dog mats faster than at any other point in their life. Even if you've been brushing every day.

What to do right now: ✔ Book more frequently — every 4–5 weeks instead of 6–8 ✔ Accept a slightly shorter cut while you get through it ✔ Brush little and often at home — 10 minutes every other day beats a long session once a week ✔ Tell us when you book — we'll plan the appointment around it

It passes. Usually by 14–16 months. The adult coat that settles after is much easier to manage.
