🐾 🌈 Today we were discussing what colours dogs can see, so we decided to have a look at the subject! 👀
Have you ever wondered what colours your dog can actually see?
Dogs don’t see the world in black and white, but they do see colours differently from us.
Their vision is dichromatic, which means blue 💙 and yellow 💛 are the colours they see most clearly.
🔵 Blue — easy to see
🟡 Yellow — easy to see
🟣 Purple — tends to appear blue
🔴 Red — can appear brownish/grey
🟢 Green — can appear yellowish/grey
🟠 Orange — can look yellowish/brown
This is particularly interesting when choosing toys! 🎾
A bright red toy on green grass might look really obvious to us, but to your dog the two colours can blend together. A blue or yellow toy is much easier for them to spot.
Something to think about next time you’re wondering why your dog can’t find the toy that’s literally right in front of them! 😂🐶
