I’m currently doing cat check/pop-in visits and none of these clients have given me consent for me to use photos of their cats on social media and that’s ok. 🐱

It got me thinking that I wanted to make you all aware of my Pet Photo/Video Consent Form and the choices I give my clients.

“If I book Odi Bear Pet Care, what happens to photos/videos of my pet/s?”

When you book with me, you aren’t automatically giving me permission to photograph or share photos/videos of your pets.

You get to choose if, where and how I can use them - including which platforms, whether I can mention your pet’s name and whether they can be used for marketing.

If you don’t want your pet’s photos/video’s shared at all, that’s completely fine.
Their privacy comes first. ❤️

I also keep the photos and videos I take securely on my phone, which is protected by Face ID and a passcode.

Last night, I was relaxing with my colouring book 🎨 when the dog, I’m caring for suddenly started dreaming. 😴🐾

She was twitching and slightly shaking, making little barks and then her legs started going as if she was running. 🥹😂

I couldn’t help but wonder what she was dreaming about… walking through the woods? 🌳 Running around somewhere exciting? 🐕💨 Or perhaps having a little adventure of her own! 💭

Such a lovely thing to see when a pet is this settled and comfortable in my care. 😍

Those little moments really are so special. ❤️

When they choose you 🥹🐾

I’ve been caring for this beautiful girl for over a week and a half now and watching her confidence grow has been incredibly special. ❤️

She’s a rescue who can be anxious around dogs and people, and although I’ve cared for her on previous occasions, I truly believe that trust happens in their own time, at their own pace.

I don’t need to rush her. I don’t need her to be anything other than herself. I just give her the space, patience, kindness and reassurance she needs… and let her decide when she’s ready. 🥰

And then today… she came and chose to sit beside me on the sofa. 🥹

Not because I called her over.
Not because I encouraged her.
She simply chose to come and sit next to me, completely relaxed and happy. ❤️

These little moments might seem small to some people, but when you know where a pet has started from, they mean everything.

I’m so grateful for every day I get to spend with her and incredibly proud to watch that little bit of confidence grow each time I see her. 🐾❤️

Sometimes the biggest progress happens quietly, when we simply give them the time and space to find their own way.

🎉 2 Years of Odi Bear Pet Care! 🐾

How can it be two years already?!

It’s crazy to think that my dream of looking after animals since I was younger is actually a reality!!

Looking back, I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. The funny thing is, until recently I still found myself calling Odi Bear Pet Care my “new business”…

Then I had a realisation… I’m not a new business anymore. I’m an established business, built on trust, kindness and the privilege of caring for so many wonderful pets and their families.

The trust my clients place in me to care for their pets and their homes is something I will never take for granted.

This weekend I’ve been caring for three lovely dogs, each with their own personalities and needs. Being there for them, whether it’s gentle walks, medication, eye drops, reassurance or simply companionship, is exactly why I love what I do.

As I finished my pet sit today, I headed off to do a pop-in visit for two lovely cats. It felt quite fitting to spend my two year anniversary doing exactly what I love most - caring for pets in their own homes, where they feel safe and secure.

Every pet is an individual and every decision I make comes back to their happiness and wellbeing.

To every client who has trusted me with your precious pets, supported my small business, recommended me, shared my posts or simply followed along on this journey… thank you. None of this would have been possible without you.

Here’s to more years of paws, purrs, waddles, adventures and many more memories still to come. 💗

You may have noticed I’ve been a little quieter on Facebook and other socials over the last couple of weeks. 💜

Usually, that’s because I’m busy caring for my wonderful clients pets. But this time, if I’m honest, it’s because I needed a little time to process everything that had happened.

The last few weeks have been some of the most emotional I’ve experienced since starting Odi Bear Pet Care.

Sadly, I experienced the loss of two dogs who had been part of my pet sitting journey. One was a dog I had cared for previously and the other was a dog I had cared for twice a week since September. The loss of the second dog was especially heartbreaking, as we had built such a special bond.

I also experienced my very first emergency trip to the vets with a pet in my care. Thankfully, after treatment, they were ok, but it was a reminder of just how much responsibility comes with looking after someone’s precious family member.

Looking back, I’m proud of how I handled such a stressful situation. I stayed calm, followed the owner’s instructions and made sure they received the care they needed.

Losing pets is the part of this job that nobody really prepares you for. Every pet I care for means something to me, whether I’ve known them for one visit or many months. They each leave their own little paw print on my heart.💗🐾

These experiences reminded me that caring deeply isn’t a weakness - it’s one of my strengths and one of the reasons I do what I do.

So if I’ve been a little quieter than usual, thank you for your patience. My priority will always be making sure the pets in my care receive the love, attention and support they deserve, while also remembering to look after myself.

I’ve been through my diary and updated my availability calendar for the rest of 2026.

📅 I am now fully booked until 18th November 2026 and have only very limited availability remaining for the rest of the year.

I generally always have a chat with the animals I care for, this gorgeous boy is usually very vocal, so I thought I’d capture one of our conversations. 🥰

Me: “I’ve missed you.”
Him: Meeeeow! 😸

We went back and forth a few times…

Then I said, “I love you.” ❤️

Silence… for about 15 seconds! 😂

I think I completely caught him off guard! 🤣

Moments like this are one of the many reasons I love what I do. 🐾💕

I am now back from a lovely week away on holiday 💜
Spending time with family, exploring new places and taking some time out.

We visited lots of beautiful places and had plenty of adventures along the way. One of the highlights was seeing the most incredible rainbow 🌈, I’ve never seen both the start and end of a rainbow before, the colours reflected in the trees made it even more special.

I’ve come back straight into the England heatwave ☀️ and it’s been a busy few days keeping the pets in my care cool, comfortable and happy 🐾

I’m still catching up on messages and enquiries, so thank you for your patience 🙂
