We were invited to a special VIP launch of the Enrichment Room at Raw Essentials yesterday. Winnie and Bella had a great time searching all the different areas for treats. Itโ€™s great for mental stimulation, especially if your dog isnโ€™t able to do much physical exercise, or just for something different to enjoy with them. Weโ€™ll definitely be booking it after Winnie is spayed to keep her mind occupied when her body has to stay calm! ###

Dogsโ€™ stress signals often get misunderstood or missed, with some owners not realising their dog is unhappy until they growl, snap or even bite.

The canine ladder of communication is a useful guide, showing some of the different signals dogs show through their body language to communicate.

As a dog gets more upset, their body language may change according to the steps on the ladder.

Itโ€™s important to note that all dogs are different - not every dog will show every behaviour on the ladder and might not follow the specific order.

Familiarise yourself with the signals shown above so that you can recognise them with your own dogs ๐Ÿถ

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก A MESSAGE TO ALL DOG WALKERS ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก

If you encounter a horse and rider whilst out walking your dog, please DON'T hide behind the nearest tree ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿซ

You've literally just turned into a "predator ready to jump out and attack" and are MORE likely to spook my horse when inevitably your curious or playful dog pops it's head out or starts barking ๐Ÿ˜…

If anything, please make yourself MORE obvious and say "hello!" - my horse is more likely to realise you are in fact a human accompanying said "predator" and feel more at ease passing you both

Thanks, your local horse rider ๐Ÿ‘
