100’s of the North West's top pigeon fanciers are set to gather at Bamfords Globe Mill this weekend.
Now in its 27th year, with our Director Alan Bamford at the heart of proceedings, the Bamfords Gold Ring Spectacular is one of the most prestigious events in the Pigeon Racing calendar.
We will see fanciers from across the North-West choose selected birds bred from their speediest bloodlines and trained to hit peak condition for the race from Chale on the Isle of Wight.
MARKING will take place on Sunday August 30th between 6.30 am and 9.00 am at Bamfords Globe Mill, Midge Hall Lane, Midge Hall, Leyland, Lancashire, PR26 6TN. Everyone is welcome to attend whether taking part or not ( The butty van will be on-site with refreshments from 6 am, and our shop will be open from 8 am).
After their journey to the Isle of Wight, the birds will be liberated on August Bank Holiday Monday morning for the flight back north.
The fanciers will then gather back at Globe Mill in the evening from 6.00pm - 8.00pm, to record their birds' performance and wait with bated breath to see if they have won a slice of the pool and prize money, which can be up to £25,000.
