Big boy hector, truly adorable but due to his anxiety and being an older gentleman we are unable to use the dryer so we do everything in reverse.
Rather than rushing or forcing things, i listen to what Hector tells me and adapt the groom to suit him. This meant doing the whole groom in reverse — and leaving the bath until the very end! 🛁✂️
For some dogs, especially older or anxious ones, the usual grooming routine can feel overwhelming. Changing the order, taking things slowly and giving them plenty of reassurance can make all the difference.
The most important part of any groom isn't just how the finished haircut looks — it's making sure the dog feels safe, respected and comfortable throughout the process. 🥰
It may take a little longer and require some creative thinking, but seeing a nervous dog relax and finish their groom feeling happy makes it all worthwhile. 🐶💕
Every dog is different, and sometimes you just have to groom outside the box! ✂️🐾
