🦟🚨BLUETONGUE ALERT🚨🦟 cases of bluetongue rising across England and Wales

The Bluetongue outbreak has started considerably faster than last season. We are aware of high, significant cases of BTV occurring in Devon and Cornwall with it probably only being a matter of time before the disease sweeps up to our area.

Due to current warm, humid weather conditions, there is a potential for widespread transmission by biting midges across the country. With disease activity expected to peak in Autumn, now is the time to act.

Vaccination remains the only effective way to reduce the severity of the disease and protect your flock or herd.
We strongly advise vaccinating all susceptible animals as soon as possible including young stock due to the severity of symptoms being seen in affected animals.

🐏Ram MOT 🐏

To make sure your rams are in tip top condition for the breeding season an MOT should ideally be 10 weeks before tupping to give time to correct any problems.

In addition to the general MOT, a fertility test can be requested to look at s***m count, motility, and morphology.

The MOT visit checks for the 5 T’s:
- Teeth
- Toes
- Testicles
- Tone
- Treat
