All sorts of Oaticakes world records are being broken this week 😂

Today I have made 54 bags of Oaticakes, yes you read right, 54 bags!! Considering I thought the dehydrator only held 48 bags that's pretty good going. Although I'm not sure I ever want to do it again 😂

Lots of Apple Crumble have been made. Some are going to fell forage, the rest are now on the website. I have also made a few more Woodland Delights Oaticakes which are also now available (in the pear section).

Around 5pm yesterday I added 25 bags of Bottom Twitcher to the website. By 10pm there were just 6 bags left 😲😲 This morning there are only 4 bags left.

No wonder people think I'm not making anything even though I'm making more than I ever have!!

I don't use hay meal like mass produced rabbit treats. Every day I freshly grind a quality Timothy/ryegrass mix to make it the perfect size for both Oaticakes and your bunnies. Small enough to fit in Oaticakes without the mixture needing added binders but still big enough to make your rabbits do that all important tooth grinding motion that keeps their teeth in top form 🙂

I am absolutely working my socks off at the moment. I am making more Oaticakes than Ive ever made and still supply can't keep up with demand right now.

I'm getting multiple messages at all hours of the day and night asking when I'm going to be making more Oaticakes.....

Unless the website specifically says the business is shut, then I am always making more Oaticakes. At the moment I am practically working 7 days a week. If I'm not making Oaticakes then I'm packing orders, printing labels, bagging up or going out to buy ingredients. There is only one of me and everything takes time to do.

So why don't I expand? If I'm this busy why don't I get bigger premises, get some help in etc?

I'm sorry but that's never going to happen. Because I want Oaticakes to survive the long game and so far it has, almost ten years as a registered business.

It's not always like this. There are quiet months. There have been quite a few of those this year with the increased cost of living. Staying in the garden room I have no rent to pay. Having no help I have no wages to pay. Having had a website purpose built for me I now have no monthly website fees to pay, just a minimal annual hosting cost. When the weeks are quiet I don't have to worry about covering those costs. I can also easily reduce how much produce I buy, how much electricity I use as and when I need to, to keep costs down.

Over the many years Oaticakes has been running I have lost count of the number of other bunny businesses I have seen come and go. If you pop on Instagram you will see small businesses of all types closing daily. I want Oaticakes to keep going as long as I'm physically able to continue.

So yes it might be frustrating for you not to be able to buy all the Oaticakes you want today. It's frustrating for me that I can't always make enough to go round despite my best efforts. But by keeping Oaticakes small it guarantees you will be able to buy Oaticakes tomorrow and the next day 🙂

I'm so incredibly grateful for all your orders and wonderful support and I'm sorry to those that keep missing out. But be assured I am working as hard as I possibly can to get Oaticakes back on the website x

So I ended up with a week's worth of orders in 3 hours AGAIN, yesterday evening 😯😯

Even Oaticakes that are still in the dehydrator have sold out!

It's going to take awhile to get through all the orders, especially as some of the Oaticakes aren't completely dry yet and will need bagging and labelling. It's going to be a busy bank holiday here at Oaticakes!

Today I broke a world record in the land of Oaticakes...... 🙀

I made a huge 49 bags of Oaticakes this morning!!!

I normally make approximately 36 on a normal day and recently have been making on average 42 bags per day. 49 is a ridiculous amount but you have all forced me into it 😂

I've also stood all afternoon and caught up with bagging up the Oaticakes now the bags have arrived.

My poor legs won't hold me up any longer so I think I'm going to doze on the sofa while Steve cooks dinner 😴

We were late to the market today as we had a bad night. One of our cats went missing and turned up later badly attacked by another cat. I've been up half the night with him and we were at the vets first thing. Hopefully the antibiotics and pain relief will do it's thing quickly 🙂

But eventually we got to the market and were still able to get lots of fresh herbs, a box of apples and a box of bananas. Unfortunately there was no fresh fenugreek left so I swapped to dill for some Don't Dilly Dally tomorrow instead ❤️

Lots of Oaticakes are planned over the next few days. All I need now is my missing product bags!
