I previously put a post up with my wife’s big horse having some leather pads with cut out frog piece applied, I received a lot of messages about whether anything would get stuck underneath them, so here is a little video of what the foot likes like with the shoe and pad removed. I was really pleased with them as the big lad doesn’t usually grow much foot.
The reason I apply pads in this way is mainly done to the frog being prouder than the heels, as most pads are flat not cutting out the frog piece would cause too much sole pressure and likely discomfort.
