Here's Pickle having a dose in the hammock. I have not had a cuddle with her for a while so decided to have one yesterday but shes running away all the time and seemed afraid. I managed to have a cuddle and she seemed quite happy after all the kisses. Think her and Athena are picking over the mixed feed. Smack bums in order I think. LOL.

This afternoon Pinky seemed unwell in himself. I watched him for awhile but he didn't seem to want to move. I went to check him and he felt really cold, shaking and breathing fast, Very wobberly on his feet. I picked him up and snuggled him to me where he just sat. I began to think it was his time after suffering from ill health for quite awhile . He certainly was not the busy body and I can do it, little boy he was. I gave him a heat pad and made the hospital cage up for him to rest in by my side. I wanted to leave him with Mayhem and Mischief but they were in heavy play mode jumping all over the cage and on him too so couldn't leave him. I gave him a heat pad teddy to snuggle on in a fleece bed which he went straight into all nice and cosy. He has a warm blanket to walk on and a Rabbit Teddy that belonged to Pandora sat in the corner. He slept most of the day with me checking on him. when he woke up he had a nibble of food but not much. Keeping a close eye on him. Making sure he eats and drinks He has warmed up and a little more alert after his medication. Will see how he is tomorrow.

A poem about our Pickle.

I once had a house
That was made of wood
I really loved chewing it
It tasted so good
A little nibble here,
A big chew there.
I was in heaven
Chewing everywhere.

Mum wasn't happy
And told me No
But I was addicted
And just couldn't stop
So my teeth went nibbling
And I chewed the lot.

So I guess Pickle still wants to chew the metal wheel despite having lots of wooden chewy toys. Maybe she prefers the metal taste....

Here's Pinky having a cuddle and snuggling in my cardigan. Offered him a few treats but he didn't really want any. He thought I was more tasty and proceeded to nibble on me instead very gently which he seemed quite content to do. But he was gentle and never hurt me or drew blood. I was his new chew toy. LOL.

Who said empty degu.food bags are boring. This lot are making sure there's none left and hiding from mum...

Just wanted to update on Athenas health. Her operation wound has healed really well and the fur has started to grow back...

Just wanted to update on Athenas health. Her operation wound has healed really well and the fur has started to grow back now. She is full of life and loves receiving treats at the open cage door in the evening when everything is settled. Her and Pickle are wonderful friends with no fights. Although Athena has took to sitting on Pickles special shelf which she is fine with a short share then Pickle tries to nudge up but the shelf is not big enough for two unless they are snuggling on top of each other.
I love her big floppy ear.
