🐾Hi everyone, my name is Lynton! 🐾

My mum, Lydia, is unfortunately one of the vet nurses at Medivet Thurmaston… which means I’ve had absolutely no choice but to become a regular here. 🥰

I used to be a guide dog, but sadly I didn’t quite make it through my training. Apparently, I wasn’t quite what they were looking for in a guide dog. 🐶 Personally, I think they were just jealous of my social skills 🐾 I mean, can you blame me? Everyone smells AMAZING and I simply must say hello to EVERYONE! 💕

Anyway, today I was faced with the dreaded NEUTERING. 🩺✂️

At first, I was like:

“Absolutely not. I have plans.” 😤

But after receiving approximately 7,000 cuddles, lots of fuss, some very convincing nurses and being told what a handsome boy I am… I eventually agreed.

I mean, who am I to say no to that level of attention? 🥰

Naturally, I also had to have a full photoshoot throughout the whole process 📸 because I need to show all my doggy friends that going to the vets really isn’t so scary after all!

Jonesy is a gorgeous 2-year-old Domestic Shorthair who came in to see one of our nurses for his routine 6-monthly health check. 🩺🐱

He was such a good boy during his visit and clearly had a lovely time… so much so that he decided he didn’t want to go back into his carrier! 😂

We don’t blame you, Jonesy — we loved having you visit us! 🥰

It was so lovely to see you, Jonesy! We look forward to seeing you again soon. 🤍🐾

📣 A little reminder about MHP 6-monthly health checks 🐾

Over the last few weeks, we’ve had a lovely increase in clients using our online booking system. We completely understand how convenient it is to book appointments online, especially when our phone lines can be busy!

We just wanted to clarify one thing, as we’ve noticed a few appointments being booked slightly incorrectly.

💙 MHP 6-monthly health checks are routine nose-to-tail health checks, usually carried out by one of our lovely Veterinary Nurses. These appointments are included as part of your Medivet Healthcare Plan (MHP).

If your pet is poorly, showing new symptoms, or you have concerns about their health, they will need to see a Veterinary Surgeon (vet) rather than booking an MHP health check. Our Veterinary Nurses are unable to diagnose conditions or prescribe medication.

If you book an MHP health check with a nurse but your pet is unwell, we will always do our best to help. However, a vet may not be immediately available, and you may need to wait until a vet is free or arrange another appointment for your pet.

If a vet is available to see your pet during the nurse appointment, this will be treated as a standard veterinary consultation and a consultation fee will apply.

Don’t worry! If your pet is unwell or you’re unsure what type of appointment they need, please give us a call and our team will be happy to point you in the right direction.

🖤 Meet Nero! 🖤

Nero is a 5-month-old black smoke Maine C**n kitten… although the word kitten is being used very loosely! 😂

At just 5 months old, this handsome boy already weighs a whopping 4.5kg 🤯 And he’s certainly not finished growing yet!

When Nurse Sim last saw Nero just 2 months ago, he weighed a tiny 2.7kg… fast forward 8 weeks and he’s gained nearly 2kg! 😳 Someone clearly forgot to tell him he was supposed to stay kitten-sized! 😂

Despite his impressive size, Nero was the most affectionate, happy boy during his weight check, happily soaking up all the attention.🥰🖤

We’ll see you next month, Nero… although at this rate, we might need to bring the industrial-sized scales! 😂🐾
