HoneyBee-Rescue

HoneyBee-Rescue We remove, rescue and re-home honeybees. We’re not pest controllers. Many pest controllers tend to eliminate and dispatch our very important pollinators.

Our journey with honeybees started right in our garden. Even though there are quite a lot of pollinator friendly garden plants and allotments nearby, we noticed there were not many bees nor pollinating creatures about, and we felt it is important to bring pollinators back in our area. Our first colony came from a reputable bee farm, and we learned hands on every day since. Through the season, our

bees brought back so much life into our garden and neighboring area, many different types of bees, butterflies, other critters, as well as plant life and little birds! Garden trees, shrubs and bushes around our area did so much better flowering and fruiting since introducing honeybees. We understand the importance of pollinators, especially with recent climate changes and new regulations coming for pest controls. We are passionate about saving bees. Last season, we started our honeybee rescue journey, and went out with a pest controller. We helped him cut out colonies from chimneys, cavity walls, ceilings and under the floorboards. We brought each colony to our first quarantine area to monitor for any illness, strength and temperament of the colony. Each colony has been given sufficient space in a new hives, and has been looked after well by us. We have now acquired extra apiary areas for more colonies to save and for established colonies to have a permanent home.
