This month, our wellness program is all about the "C" word. We are holding an internal Macmillan coffee morning for our staff where there will be lots of sweet treats and a chance to raise funds for a truly deserving charity! Did you know that more than 20 million new cancer cases are diagnosed worldwide every year? Since it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're encouraging our team and everyone they care about to 'CoppaFeel!' by checking their breasts regularly for any changes. Together, we can support one another and spread awareness—because an estimated 2.4 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer globally each year!🩷

🐾 🌟 Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance Accredited Practice 🌟

Did you know Park Vets Glenfield is an accredited practice with the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance (VOA)? 💚

Led by our Lead Veterinary Surgeon, Laura, and Lead Nurse, Faye, we completed additional training, case logs and assessments to achieve this accreditation.
Both Laura and Faye have a real passion for caring for our golden oldies, inspired by their own personal experiences with their dogs. 🐶❤️

🐾 What does this mean for your pet?
We now offer a dedicated mobility service for senior pets, with individual care plans tailored to each pet’s needs. These may include:

💊 Medication reviews
🐕 Physiotherapy
💗 Acupuncture
🧬 Regenerative medicine, including stem cell therapy
⚖️ Weight management clinics

Osteoarthritis can cause stiffness, difficulty getting up, slower walks and reluctance to use stairs. These changes aren’t always just a normal part of ageing, and the right management plan can help improve your pet’s comfort and quality of life. 💚

🐾 A LITTLE REMINDER ABOUT MISSED APPOINTMENTS 🐾

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans change. However, when appointments are missed without notice, it has a real impact on our practice, our team, and other pets waiting to be seen. ❤️

📊 Did you know?

During September 2026, we have had 197 missed appointment slots, equivalent to 2,955 minutes of veterinary time — that’s almost 49 hours of time that could have been used to care for pets in need! 🐶🐱
When appointments are missed, we often cannot offer those slots to other patients who may be unwell or waiting for essential treatment.

💙 Our Missed Appointment Policy
To help us make the best use of our time and ensure we can care for as many pets as possible, we would like to remind all our clients of the following:

📌 If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the slot to another patient.

📌 If you miss two consecutive appointments, a deposit will be required when booking future appointments.

📌 If you can no longer attend, please contact us in advance to cancel or rearrange your appointment.

We are committed to providing the best possible care for your beloved pets, and your cooperation helps us do just that. 🐾

THANK YOU to everyone who donated, attended or supported our fundraiser and entered our raffle - all of your support is greatly appreciated!!!

We raised an incredible £1565.28 to help support our stray and wildlife patients - with additional funds being raised Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital which will be donated shortly!

Our event not only helped books, teddies and plants find new homes, but more importantly will help fund procedures and care on animals that have no one else to support them!

Say hello to our sweet Jenny! She joined her human at work for some much-needed dental TLC. Just like our pets at home, it's super important to keep their teeth clean—otherwise, they might end up needing extractions like Jenny, who had 10 teeth removed, plus a good cleaning and polish. We're so happy to share that Jenny is doing great and recovering well. Let's all remember to keep those furry smiles shining bright!

Why Dental Care Matters:
