Wow, what an amazing 3 days I’ve had on the Canine Cognition instructors course, part 1 with Endeavour Canine! So much to learn and practise with really lovely, like minded people and dogs.

This part covered the scenarios we work through with the dogs. Part 2 will look at the follow on and applying the results to our sports, to help us get the best from our dogs (how do they learn, how can we apply our findings to our training and what does it mean from a dogs perspective?)

I will be running these sessions from next year, once I have completed the course and I am happy to be hosted to run these sessions for other clubs (this can be for any types of dog sports, not just scentwork or detection, but can also be applied to agility, hoopers, Rally, Gun Dog, Flyball, Obedience, etc).

Please get in touch if you’d be interested in hosting me to run a seminar for your club, or if you’d like to put your name down to attend a seminar I will organise locally in Leicestershire, starting in 2027 😀

I am so looking forward to attending the first Canine Cognition Instructors Course next week and learning from the best. It will help me to understand how dogs think, learn and solve problems (which will be great for hoopers and agility). It will also enable me to deliver the training to others who have the same fascination about canine cognition, how dogs learn and what the results mean, for a huge variety of dog sports/working dogs. Can’t wait to start adding this course to my programme of events and delivering courses under the Woodland Agility Group banner 💜🩶💜

It starts on Monday!!

After months of development, printing and preparation, the very first Canine Cognition Instructor Course begins on Monday, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome the new instructors.

Seeing the instructor handbooks ready to go makes it all feel very real. Every page has been designed to support instructors long after the course has finished, combining science, practical application and structured teaching guidance into one comprehensive resource.
