Meet Luna, 5 month old German Shepherd training to be a Wellbeing Assistance Dog. She has just passed her Wellbeing Assistance Puppy Award where she learnt to stay calm with the help of a clicker while training in the community at the Exchange Bar, Leicester. She also learned to comfort her owner and herself by touching him with her paw or nose.

WOODY TRAINING AS A WELLBEING THERAPY DOG

So sorry that some of the Assistance Dogs Training organisations seem to be closing. Here at Wellbeing Assistance Dogs and Wellbeing Therapy Dogs we can still help you to train your pet to comfort you and help you in the Community to survive and thrive.
Here is Woody who is in the process of completing his Public Access Wellbeing Test so that he can be a fully trained Therapy Dog to help clients with Mental Health and Learning Difficulties to cope.

At Wellbeing Assistance Dogs we train your pet dog to help you recover from Mental Health problems. Our Lead Dog Trainer suffered herself with severe Mental Health problems from 1975 when she was 19 years old to 1997 at the age 42.

She felt that training a dog to do 'the Touch' helped her with social inclusion. She loved the amazing companionship of an Assistance Dog that with the help of the 'Public Access Wellbeing Training' you can take anywhere as they have learned to do 'the stay', to 'walk on a looselead' and to do a good 'Recall'.

Here is Amber who recently graduated as a Wellbeing Assistance Dog.
