Here at Farm Vet Solutions, we know accidents can happen, and sometimes we never find out exactly how. These two are a perfect example of that!

One cow unfortunately managed to tear the top of her nose, while we suspect this little calf may have been accidentally stood on by mum.

The good news is that both are healing well and getting back to their normal selves in no time!

In the scorching heat over the Bank Holiday weekend, Beth was kept busy answering call after call! One of the many visits was this caesarean at Windmill Farm Park , helping safely deliver these goat kids.

Nothing beats a bit of in-house competition!
From 1st February to 17th May, we tracked the number of calvings and lambings attended by our vets — and what a busy season it’s been!

Over this period, our team attended an incredible 139 calvings and 185 lambings.
A huge congratulations to Sonny, who attended the most calvings with an impressive 23, and to Saffron, who topped the lambing leaderboard with a fantastic 38 attended!
To recognise all their hard work and dedication, we presented them both with a well-earned trophy.

While Sonny and Saffron took the top spots, we also want to say a massive thank you and well done to our entire vet team for all the hard work, commitment, and effort they put in throughout the year, especially during the busy lambing and calving season. We couldn’t do it without you all!

Our vets have been kept busy with calves over the past few weeks — from river rescues, to giving Rudolph a helping hand, to supporting some very large calves safely into the world.

Today, on National Receptionist Day, we’re celebrating the incredible team behind the phone calls, emails, and warm welcomes at our practice.
Our reception team does so much more than answer the phones, they’re ATTS, vet techs, organisers, problem-solvers, stock-checkers, appointment jugglers, and the friendly faces who help keep everything running smoothly every single day.

As part of mental health awareness week we want to raise awareness to our clients:
Farming feeds the world, but too often, farmers carry the weight of stress, isolation, and exhaustion. Mental health matters in every field, every barn, and every home.
Checking in on each other should be as normal as checking the weather. A conversation, a listening ear, or simply asking “How are you really doing?” can make a difference, our vets and receptionists are hear to listen.
To every farmer facing hard days: your wellbeing matters just as much as your work. Seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
There are many charities you can turn to, including The Farming Community Network who are willing to help alongside us!

During , we want to raise awareness of the importance of community, of listening and of being there for the people around us. A problem shared is often a problem halved and speaking about what is on our mind can help to lighten the load.
