🐱 HELP PROTECT YOUR CAT FROM PANLEUKOPAENIA 🐱

For the third consecutive year, we are seeing an increased number of cases of feline panleukopaenia (FPV) at the end of summer.

Sadly, panleukopaenia is highly contagious and there is no specific cure. Vaccination is the best way to protect your cat against this serious disease. 💗

💉 Vaccination costs £44 for the initial course.

Please make sure your cat is vaccinated and receives regular boosters against FPV.

🏥 If you are visiting PDSA Leicester Pet Hospital:
Please leave your cat safely in their carrier in your car before your appointment and check in at reception as normal. This helps us reduce the risk of infection within the hospital.

Hot weather alert!

If your pet has an appointment with us during this hot weather, please plan ahead to keep them cool. Consider postponing any non-essential appointments, bring water, use air-con/create a breeze in the car, and never leave them in it, not even for a few minutes. This is very important for short-nosed breeds such as Pugs, Persian cats, French Bulldogs, and Boxers. Another plea for Wet food donations of the below brands. Any in date, sealed food you have at home or are able to purchase of these brand would be greatly appreciated. We are extremely low on wet food for both dogs and cats. 🐱🐶

This food is essential for helping pets in our care with their recovery 🐕 🏥

We’re urgently appealing for specific wet food donations to help the pets in our care at PDSA 🐾

We’re currently looking for:

🐶🐱 Brands for both Dogs and Cats;
• James Wellbeloved
• Wainwrights
• AVA Sensitive
• Lily’s Kitchen
• Naturo
• Hills i/d
• RC (Royal Canin) Gastrointestinal

🐶 Just Dogs:
• Chappie

🐱 Just Cats (extra tempting options to encourage eating):
• Tuna in spring water
• Sardines in spring water
(Being in spring water is essential so please double check this before bringing these donations in)

These specific foods make a real difference for poorly or vulnerable pets who need gentle, easy-to-digest meals or a little extra encouragement to eat. If you’re able to donate any of the above, we would be incredibly grateful.
