You can take the girl out of quantity surveying… but apparently you can’t take the quantity surveyor out of the girl! 🤣

There I was today, trundling along the fence line with a trundle wheel, and it felt like I’d travelled back in time. Years ago I used one almost every day measuring building sites… today it’s fields, fence posts and mud instead of bricks and concrete.

Funny how some skills never leave you! Although I have to admit, measuring a fence line with horses watching over your shoulder is a lot more enjoyable than standing on a building site. 🐴🌿

🚨 LAST BOY STANDING… 🚨

Well… someone needs to tell this handsome chap that all his brothers and sister have nearly found their forever sofas! 🐾❤️

Our last little boy is still looking for his perfect family, and honestly, we can’t understand why! He’s full of confidence, mischief, cuddles, and charm – everything you’d expect from a properly reared farm puppy.

🐶 Fully health tested parents (both can be seen)
🐶 Legally docked & dew claws removed
🐶 Raised in our busy home and farm environment
🐶 Raw fed from the very beginning
🐶 Endless love, socialisation and attention every single day
🐶 Vet checked & first vaccination complete

He’s been loved from the moment he arrived, and we’ll be just as picky about where he goes. This isn’t just a puppy – he’s a future best friend, shooting companion, adventure buddy and loyal member of the family.

🌾 Sorry we’ve been a little quiet… 🐶

If you’ve been wondering where we’ve disappeared to, we promise we haven’t gone anywhere… we’ve just been slightly distracted! 😅

Between making haylage while the weather has been on our side, raising a gorgeous litter of puppies, and keeping the day-to-day farm life ticking over, the days have been disappearing faster than we’d like.

But it hasn’t all been the usual jobs… behind the scenes we’ve been hard at work making improvements too. We’ve been upgrading gateways, tidying up, and working on lots of exciting projects that we can’t wait to share with you over the coming weeks and months.

Sometimes social media has to take a back seat while the real work gets done, but we’re back and looking forward to bringing you along for the ride again.

Thank you for sticking with us—we promise there are plenty of exciting updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and maybe a few surprises coming your way! 👀🚜🐴🐶

🚜 The results are in… and the stack is complete! 🌱

A huge thank you to everyone who had a guess on how many haylage bales we’d get from our 40 acres… the final total is…

🥁 221 bales! 🥁

Not a bad return at all, and we’re really pleased with this year’s crop. Even better, every single bale is now safely stacked away, ready to keep our horses well-fed through the winter months. 💚🐴

There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing months of work sitting neatly in the barn. Now we just need Mother Nature to be kind enough to let us enjoy the sunshine with maybe the odd shower before second cut☀️😅💧

👀 They’re waking up to the world… 🐾💛

One by one, those tiny little eyes are starting to open… and it’s honestly one of our favourite milestones. 🥹

Just a week ago they were little sleepy potatoes, and now they’re beginning to discover the world around them (and, more importantly, who’s bringing the milk bar! 🤭).

Over the next few days their little personalities will really start to shine, and we can’t wait to watch these gorgeous pups grow into confident, cheeky little adventurers.

Warning: the cuteness level is about to increase dramatically… and we’re not sure anyone is ready for it! 🐶❤️

Demand for affordable retirement livery has risen "exponentially" as people were "massively worried" about the rising cost of living, owners of a farm have said.

Fiona and Ian Long, who look after more than 70 horses at Padwick Farm in Leek, Staffordshire, said they had seen a 60% growth in livery bookings in the last five years as prices rise. https://bbc.in/3SDyeNT

Typical livery costs, which are fees for the boarding and care of horses in stables, can be about £800 a month, according to the charity Horse Trust.

Padwick Farm said it charged less than half the price to prevent owners from euthanising their horses.

Some horses leave hoofprints on the ground… the special ones leave them on your heart this is one of them!❤️

Meet Tucker (Silk Town), a horse whose career speaks for itself.

🏅 From his first international placings in 2010, Tucker consistently proved himself at every level:
✨ Multiple top placings at Intermediate
✨ Successful CCI3* completions
✨ Advanced eventing, including Chatsworth International
✨ A remarkable 100% clear cross-country jumping record in both 2012 and 2014
✨ Countless double clears and top-10 finishes throughout his career

As the years went on, Tucker happily carried younger riders up through the levels, proving not only his talent but also his generosity and honesty. Even as he got older, he was still producing fantastic results, finishing with a brilliant 12th place at Chatsworth CCI2*S in 2017.

Behind every rosette is a horse with heart, courage and an incredible work ethic, and Tucker has all three in abundance. He’s the sort of horse every rider dreams of having once in a lifetime, he’s also a mothers dream as he was ALWAYS so careful and took care of his riders XC

We’re incredibly proud of everything he’s achieved and even more grateful to have him as part of our story to enjoy his retirement here
