A few new additions to the squad in the last month. Richard had taken them under his wing and doing a great job with their solo walks.
Welcome Adaline 5 month old Border Collie, Ripley 5 months old Staffy and Bruce 3 yr old Golden Retriever.
Young Ripley has had a challenging start to his left who his owner’s found out he had 2 detached retinas, so is just about blind but adapting well at home. He then had a fall and had a broken Fibula so he needs pram walks currently. Poor Ripley ❤️

Welcome to Lando the lovely 3 yr old greyhound. It’s nice to have a greyhound again since Florence moved out of the area the other year. I’m sure my other sighthound Monty will love him when they meet.
His owner is a bit worried about his recall so we’re going to have a look at that with him next week.

Me and Luna, cold but warm in Bramley if you get what I mean.

Good evening, I have some new weekday daytime sessions starting nearby for anyone looking for something to do with their dog during the day.
I’m a trainee canine behaviourist and I’ve been a trainer for around 7 years.
You can come as often or as little as you want to and just pay per session.
If you’re interested but can’t make that time, do let me know and I can try to accommodate you.
Please share if you can.

Thanks Amanda's Pet Palace

That’s a wrap for the next 6 days. I will be back to work next Thurs. We’re going for a well needed break 🥱

A really great lightbulb moment I read in my study today -

‘It’s the big stuff that is happening all the time that is shaping a dog’s brain.
You could do an amazing 5 minute training session a day, but in the rest of the 24 hrs of the day the dog is growing their brain in completely the opposite direction’ - meaning your 5 minutes isn’t going to do anything

It shows how much daily life shapes the dogs brain and how important it is to be working on skills and games out of training classes and to work for the situation and not just when confronted with a challenging situation.

I’m grateful to be studying more dog behaviour and it’s satisfying to be putting it into practice with new rescue dogs that I’m taking on and new puppies.
