Hi Guys,

Lazy Sunday for us today — well, that’s the plan anyway.

I’ve used my little trick from last Sunday and given the dogs a longer-lasting breakfast in the hope that we actually get a bit of a lie-in.

Then the plan is a nice long dog walk, hopefully in the sunshine, home for a proper roast dinner and then absolutely nothing useful for the rest of the day.

That is my idea of a good Sunday.

What does your Sunday look like? Are you managing a lazy one, or are you already halfway through a list of jobs?

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

Quick one.

If you’re carving pumpkins soon, don’t chuck the insides just yet.

Pumpkin can be useful for some dogs when used sensibly.

Who wants to know what to do with the leftovers? Do you want some simple dog-friendly recipe ideas for next week?

Tell me in the comments.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

Moor Mud. Quick one.

Are you using it yet?

If your dog has a funny tummy or skin that flares, it might be worth a look.

If you’re using it, how’s it going? If not, what questions have you got? Give me a shout.

And if you want to know more, have you checked out my What’s in the Bowl email series?

The link’s in the comments.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

Let’s have a fun one today because autumn dog walks are definitely here.

The muddy paws have started, the leaves are everywhere and apparently every walk now involves me deciding whether it’s cold enough for a coat before regretting whatever decision I made five minutes later.

So I want to see your dogs out and about.

Have you managed one of those lovely crisp autumn walks yet? Have you got a dog disappearing into a pile of leaves? Or are your photos mainly wet dogs, mud and that look they give you when you expect them to come home?

Pop your autumn dog-walk photos in the comments. I want to see them.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

This week’s What’s in the Bowl is Dorwest BrainCopa®.

I use this one for Myst because she’s 12 now, and as she gets older I’m thinking about more than just joints. I’m also paying attention to her brain health and those little changes that can come with age.

I don’t add things to their bowls just because they’re there. If I’m using something, I want to know why I’m using it and what I’m hoping to support.

BrainCopa is one of those things that has become part of Myst’s routine as she’s got older, so this week I’m going to talk you through why I use it and why it’s in her bowl.

If you’re already using BrainCopa, or you’ve been wondering about brain support for an older dog, let me know what you want me to cover.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

The dreaded fireworks are only a couple of weeks away.

With Myst now 12, that’s 12 years of having a terrified dog, and trust me, it is the time of year I truly dread.

I know we’re only in the middle of October and you might be thinking that’s ages away. It really isn’t.

Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to talk about what I do to prepare, the different supplements and support we have, when you might need to reach for something a bit more, things you can do around the house, and chews and enrichment that can help dogs settle.

I’ve also written about fireworks before, so I’ll pop one of my fireworks blogs in the comments.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

It’s been a while, but we’re here asking for a little help.

If you could leave us a quick Google review — especially if you feel we’re worth five shiny stars — that would mean a lot to me and Ian.

We read every single one, and it helps new people find us and trust us.

Just a line or two is plenty.

Thank you so much for backing us.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

Do you ever get a lie-in on a Sunday?

Because Myst loves to be up early. Why? Just why?

We’ve had a hard week. I want to sleep. It’s the one day I don’t have to get out of bed.

So when it comes to Sunday mornings and I want that peace and quiet for an extra hour, I’ve got a neat little trick.

Do you want to know what it is?

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

What do your Saturdays look like?

Are you working or are you off? Running around with the kids, walking the dog, catching up on life?

Is Saturday a day of rest or a day of getting stuff done?

Tell me.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Guys,

One of the questions I absolutely dread in the shop is: “Which chew will last my dog the longest?”

It’s a fair question, but it usually means I have to ask quite a lot back.

Because the answer is that every dog chews differently. Some will settle down and take their time. Others seem to think the whole thing is a race.

So I never promise that a chew will last a certain amount of time.

What I actually need to know is what your dog is like with a chew. Do they settle with it? Do they try to get through it as quickly as possible? What have they had before?

Tell me what your dog is like with a chew and I’ve got a much better chance of pointing you towards something that suits them.

Thanks, Vicky
