🚨 URGENT – FOSTER HOMES DESPERATELY NEEDED 🚨

Marla’s Cat Rescue is desperate for foster homes NOW. 💔

We have mum cats and kittens living outside who desperately need to be brought into safety, especially with the weather turning.

Without foster homes, we cannot help them. 😢

Our vet bills are already huge and our funds are extremely low, but we cannot leave these cats outside with nowhere safe to go.

🏠 If you can foster, PLEASE message us.
We provide EVERYTHING they need — food, litter, equipment and all veterinary care. You just provide a safe, warm space and lots of love. ❤️

You could literally save a life.

‼️⚠️ URGENT WARNING FOR CAT OWNERS IN THE MEANWOOD AREA ⚠️‼️

Please be extremely careful if you live in or around the Meanwood area of Leeds and have cats who go outside. 🐾

There are reports of dogs being allowed to roam loose in the area, and multiple cats have sadly already been killed by these dogs. 💔

If you can, please keep your cats indoors for the time being, particularly overnight and into the morning when reports suggest attacks are occurring.

We know this isn’t easy, especially for cats who are used to having outdoor access, but please don’t take the risk with your babies. These dogs have reportedly entered gardens too, so even letting your cat into the garden may not be completely safe.

📢 Please keep an eye on local Meanwood community/social media pages too. If you see the dogs, witness an incident, or have any relevant information, please report it to the Dog Warden, Police and RSPCA, and also share the sighting or incident on local community pages so other residents and cat owners can be alerted.

Every sighting and incident reported could help build a clearer picture of what is happening and, most importantly, keep other cats and animals safe.

Please share this post with anyone you know who lives in or around Meanwood. The more people who are aware, the better chance we have of keeping our cats safe. ❤️🐱

💔 URGENT APPEAL – POOKIE & PRINCESS NEED THEIR FOREVER HOME 💔

Please take a moment to read their story…

Pookie & Princess were born here in rescue and have spent their entire lives waiting for a family to choose them. They are now over 10 months old, yet despite countless posts and shares, they have had virtually no interest.

Sadly, time is now running out for these beautiful girls.

Their wonderful foster mum is having to move and, through no fault of her own, cannot take them with her. She is the only person they have ever known. The thought of moving them into another foster home, asking them to settle all over again, only for them to have to move a second time when they are eventually adopted, just doesn’t seem fair.

We desperately want their next move to be their last… into a loving forever home.

Pookie & Princess are a deeply bonded pair and must stay together. They are looking for a quiet, understanding home where they can settle at their own pace. They may be a little shy at first, but once they feel safe, they are playful, affectionate, full of character, and absolutely adore each other.

They can live with other friendly cats with slow, careful introductions.

Please don’t let these girls spend any longer waiting. They deserve the chance to experience what every rescue cat dreams of—a family to call their own.

If you think you could offer Pookie & Princess the loving home they’ve waited so long for, we’d love to hear from you.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to say hello yesterday at the Kirkstall Festival.

It was so nice to see you all and put faces to some of the names of the people who support the rescue.

Thank you to everyone who came and bought tickets for our tombola. Although it wasn’t quite as big as the last one we had, we still managed to raise a fantastic £563, which will go straight towards paying some of our vet bills.

We also have some amazing raffles coming up over the next couple of weeks with some fantastic prizes, so please keep your eyes peeled for those.

A huge thank you as well to Shem Shah for arranging the stall for us – we really do appreciate it. And a massive thank you to Roseina Rose, Naima Kayani, Kent Helambage-Don, and Sarah Foy for coming along and helping out on the stall yesterday. I genuinely couldn’t have done it without you all.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. It means the world to us and, most importantly, to the cats in our care. ❤️🐾

Pookie & Princess are full of love, personality, and playful charm. They’ll happily chatter away during playtime (especially when the toy isn’t cooperating 😄), and they bring so much comfort to each other and everyone around them.
They are petite and can be a little timid at first, so they’re looking for a calm, quiet home where they can feel safe. With a bit of gentle play and a tasty Lick-e-Lix treat, their sweet, affectionate sides really shine through.
They truly are special — from their beautiful markings to their even more beautiful personalities.
