What a way to finish the eventing season with Just Alf, 15th at Oasby this weekend! 🧡🐴 big thank you to my trainee groom, supporter and driver Tom 🧡

After missing pretty much all of last season due to strangles, it’s been so nice to finally have our first proper season out eventing!

A few highlights along the way, including 3rd at Breckenbrough, 3rd at Northallerton and 15th at Frickley in the qualifier 💪 Lots learnt, plenty of fun had and so much to look forward to!

Couldn’t do it without my amazing friends and, of course, our very own Wonder Woman Sophie! ❤️

Roll on 2027… looking forward to stepping up! 🤩🏇

💛💚 TopSpec Weighing Visit at Harewood Livery 💚💛

On Tuesday, we had the lovely Ella TopSpec Newsome from TopSpec visit the yard to weigh all our liveries, with around 50 horses weighed throughout the day!

We were absolutely delighted to receive so many positive comments about how well all the horses look 🥰 ever seen dapples on a chestnut? 👀🤩🧡

The majority of our full and part liveries are fed on TopSpec (completely optional for owners), and we really do believe the proof is in the pudding! The condition of the horses is fantastic, and we’re incredibly grateful to Ella for the ongoing nutritional advice she provides, tailored to each individual horse and their needs. 💚

Getting the right nutrition for every horse is so important, and having access to this expertise makes such a difference.

TopSpec offer this fantastic weighing and nutritional advice service to yards, so if you’d like to arrange a visit for your yard, please contact Ella directly to book!

A huge thank you to Ella for coming out and looking after our horses so well! 🐎💚

🐴🧡 Frickley Park International Horse Trials - BE90 NRCQ - Just Alf 15th 🧡🐴

This is my first full season eventing, after the dreaded S cut last season short, so getting back out there and having a proper full season of competing has meant so much. It’s been a long road back, and I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. ❤️

Dressage, without a doubt, this was one of my best tests to date. I actually felt like we were starting to show all the work we’ve been putting in at home, and I’m finally starting to feel like a bit of a dressage geek! 😂🤓

A huge thank you to Will Joyce for helping me get to where I am now. I genuinely never thought I’d say it, but I’m actually starting to enjoy dressage! 😂

Then onto the show jumping. We had two down, which was disappointing, particularly with the very tight time allowed, but other than those two fences I was really pleased with the round.

Then it was time for XC — and we finished CLEAR! 🏇🏼💨

Unfortunately, we picked up time penalties after a bit of confusion on course. A few people on foot were telling me I was going the wrong way, so I started dithering and lost some valuable time 🤦🏼‍♀️. Lesson learnt — trust myself and keep going!

And because XC apparently wasn’t quite exciting enough, I also nearly knocked myself out on a tree at fence 16! 😂🌳 I jumped the fence and managed to catch myself on a rather inconveniently hanging branch. Thankfully, I came out the other side still conscious and carried on!

Then, just to make things even more interesting, the heavens opened the second I came out of the start box. 🌧️😂 Torrential rain meant my reins were absolutely soaked and kept slipping through my hands over the jumps, but we just cracked on and got the job done.

So, not the perfect score sheet by any means, but I’m incredibly happy with today.

One of my best dressage tests, a positive SJ round despite two down, a clear XC round, surviving the torrential rain, surviving the tree at fence 16 and coming home 15th in a qualifier! 😂❤️

Cannot put into words how proud I am of Alfie today 🥳 32.3 dressage, clear show jumping and clear in time xcountry 🤩

Big thank you to top eventing groom Lizzie Robinson & Otto (even though you ate all my snackies 🤣)

Couldn’t do any of this without my side kick Sophie Chapman on the yard 🥳

We’d already qualified for regionals at Breckenbrough, but here’s another one to confirm our place 🤩🤩
