Willow visited us for her annual vaccinations, which included a weight check and a full health check with one of our vets.

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of flystrike for our fluffy companions. Flystrike, a potentially fatal condition, occurs when flies lay eggs on a rabbit's fur, which then hatch into maggots and feed on their flesh.

🔍 Keep a close eye on your rabbit's hygiene and living environment, especially during warmer months. Regularly check for any signs of soiled fur, wounds, or unusual behaviour.

✅Prevention is key: ensure your rabbit's living space is clean and dry, and consider using flystrike prevention methods recommended by your vet.

🚨 If you suspect flystrike, seek veterinary assistance immediately. Early detection and treatment are crucial for the well-being of your furry friend!

Dogs die in hot cars 🥵

Unlike humans, dogs can’t sweat through their skin, and they can overheat incredibly quickly so NEVER leave dogs in a car, even for a few minutes.

Patient of the week 💙

Meet lovely little Milo, who came to see us last week for his booster vaccination 🐾

He was such a happy-go-lucky little man and absolutely loved all the fuss and attention he received from the team!

Vaccinations help protect dogs against a range of diseases. Even where treatment is available, these illnesses can cause significant suffering and long-term health complications.

Keeping your dog’s vaccinations up to date is a safe and effective way to help protect them from becoming seriously unwell and support a long, healthy life 💙

🐰 Meet Pluto 🐰
This handsome little gent came in to see us this week for his castration and was an absolute superstar throughout his stay ⭐

Pluto lives with his lovely female bunny friend, Mars, but they’ll need to stay separated for the next 6 weeks while his hormones settle down.

After some careful reintroductions, they’ll be able to enjoy life happily together again — without the risk of any surprise baby bunnies! 🐇💕🐇

Well done Pluto, we think you were very brave indeed and cute too! 💙

🐾💜 BEFORE & AFTER 💜🐾

BEFORE:
Today was the day! The Beechwood Vets team laced up our trainers and took on the Race for Life Pretty Muddy 5K 🏃‍♀️💪
We were (mostly!) clean, full of energy, and ready to tackle the obstacles ahead!

AFTER:
Safe to say… we got completely stuck in—literally! 😂🟫 Covered in mud, big smiles all round, and so many laughs along the way!

We’re so proud to have done this in support of Cancer Research UK and the incredible work they do to help beat cancer sooner ❤️ Every muddy step was worth it.
