No they're not, they're conservative with their energy expenditure...

Which is vital for survival.

A tired horse couldn't out run a predator

It wouldn't be able to walk the vast distance to reach water or new grazing

Horses are evolved to conserve their energy. Their lives depended on it.

If they were constantly on the go or running round, they would need to consume more calories to make up for the energy usage

This is also the reason that only horses who've needs for survival are FULLY met play; they have enough safety to waste their energy

Only truly happy horses play 🙂

So next time you want to call your horse "lazy", think about all the years of evolution that came before
