Sam’s Goodbye/ Explanation

Hey Tailored family

I’m so sorry for all the chaos over the last few weeks. My life has fallen apart and I’m sorry you guys have been affected by this.

As you know I was due to leave work on the 23rd October ahead of our little one due on the 10th Nov. Unfortunately this ended up being much sooner than expected and I had to finish on the 23rd Sept instead. For those who were in on the 22/23rd Sept and I had to hide from or who saw a different Sam than usual I apologise - I was dealing with the worst news of my life and too emotional for a goodbye. 😢

Unfortunately Alex and I found out the life shattering news at a routine growth scan that our baby Luca had severe Spina Bifida and other related brain issues which meant he wouldn’t survive. This should have been identified much much sooner in my pregnancy but was somehow missed.

He was born sleeping on the 6th October weighing 5lbs 7oz and was the most beautiful precious little baby I have ever seen. We spent time with him as a family in hospital making memories and cherishing every second with him. We could not be more in love 💙.

Thank you for your understanding with Jade having to change any appointments at the last minute and please bare with her as she is working every hour under the sun to make sure to get you all booked back in.

This is also very difficult for Jade to talk about, so please look after her heart and not question too much. Luca will never be a taboo topic but right now it’s so very raw and upsetting to discuss in person for us all.

Bring her a coffee (flat white) or something yummy to keep her going and please look after her for me forever! Welcome Amy, she will be the next amazing groomer under the guidance of Jade (best groomer ever!).

I will miss all of you and your dogs soooo much. I am so honoured and lucky to have spent the last 7 years in Otley running Tailored with my best friend in our dream job. Thank you for letting me be part of their lives and for being such a huge part of mine. You know I will be kept updated with how you all are via Jade.

Give your dogs a big kiss and cuddle from me and tell them I love them. I’m so sad I didn’t get my last goodbyes with you but thank you for all the lovely gifts for me and my Luca.

Another one!! Beautiful little Joyce came to visit and snuggle today, what a fantastic week. Best puppy cuddles ever!! Soo cute!!! 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️

Finally got a reasonable amount of time to spend in the new shop, the rip out and making good is nearly done. Soon it will be ready for the fun stuff! Not too bad for 3 days work! 😅

*UPDATE*
You may all be wondering what is next for Tailored Dog Grooming after Sam leaves in October for her exciting arrival! 👶🍼

Well... I can now reveal we are MOVING! From the 1st of November all appointments will be at my new premises at 15 Manor Square, Otley, LS21 3AP. So, not too much of a big change travel wise for everyone hopefully! 🙃 In the mean time we will still be at out usual shop enjoying our last couple of months grooming together 🙂

More updates to follow, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀

⚠️Big changes- Big News- MUST READ⚠️
It’s a 3 part information post to read to the end please.

To start with wonderful news-

Sam and Alex are expecting their first baby 🥰 a little boy due Nov 10th. Already 6 months down and it’s going so fast. They are currently on holiday enjoying some time together - just the two of them before life turns upside down into the most wonderful chaos. A wedding, a new ‘forever’ home and now a baby - it’s really has been the best few months in the Marotta household! What a year. 🥰💙

Second news, the sad news I’m afraid. -

Sam will be hanging up her grooming scissors for good at the end of October 😭. The hardest and most heartbreaking decision to make. Tailored dog grooming has been the proudest part of her life, working with your best friend every day, loving all the wonderful dogs we get to care for and spend time with is everything, truly the best job in the world. However a 2 hour commute on an already long day and a tiny baby unfortunately isn’t going to work. So Sam has had to make the incredibly hard decision to leave what she loves and prioritise family, but also her health as this wonderful job does take its toll on the old back. We hope you understand this decision was not taken lightly and she will probably cry when talking about it but she loves you all and thanks you for the most wonderful 7 years at Tailored, some of you for even longer. ❤️Jade will keep her updated with everyone’s lives and you with hers.

Lastly - Don’t panic.

Jade will be continuing grooming as usual, again don’t panic, all your appointments are taken care of. If you havnt already been given your 6 monthly schedule and had everything explained, you will do next time we see you. No changes until Nov. We are NOT closing down we promise! 🐾
