As the evenings become darker earlier, it’s a good idea to help make you and your dog more visible. Road traffic accidents are more common in darker months, so remember to walk your dog wearing reflective clothing, or give them bright reflective collars or light up leads. Also, check that your dog’s microchip details are up to date and that they’re wearing ID tags in case they get lost after dark.

Grace Horsley Darling (also known as "Amazing Grace"; 24 November 1815 – 20 October 1842) was an English lighthouse keeper's daughter. Her participation in the rescue of survivors from the shipwrecked Forfarshire in 1838 brought her national fame.

The paddlesteamer ran aground on the Farne Islands off the coast of Northumberland in northeast England; eight members of the crew and one passenger, Sarah Dawson, were saved. Sadly she died just 4 years later aged 26 of TB.

She is buried in her family plot including her Father, William the Longstone Light house keeper who took part in the rescue, in St Aidan’s church Banbury.
Pictured is the grave, the original memorial & outdoor replacement along with the original boat used…. House & Hound salutes, a brilliant example of a person just doing the right thing. RIP Grace.

Tracy is frightened of birds flapping near her so she wasn’t happy that auld Captain was a magnet to the local tame starlings … tried to buy her an alfresco lunch ( sausage on a stick) to settle her nerves but to no avail… 😝

Lola made the most of it as usual…

Another wee trip to Amble & this time Lola got a chance to get close to the local art….
