Willowbrook Jackpot. With that name, he can only bring good things with him. Strong bet for an unproven male this year. Blinding Lights

Very peculiar name for this one. Aka Blight, this girl is also expecting soon. She has been in Kestle for over a year now, well settled and a very moody pregnant lady by now. I think she's having enough of the extra weight she's carrying. This will be her first cria. We hope she passes on her very long eye lashes, and her high quality fleece....

Grazing with Grace

So this is one of those sudden appearances in the field. There were four females in one of the paddocks. One of these things farmers do is counting heads constantly. We had tried to get Esme pregnant but she kept on sitting for the male (remember: once pregnant they spit the male off and don't allow the mating) so we gave up, as it was getting late in the summer....

Time again!

Taking from my last post -regrettably this was a few weeks ago- the boys finally stayed together. They got on well and there was no fight or friction. Maybe click below to see all the past posts on our site.

With the girls now, we're back to this time of the year where patience is put to the test.

I’m going to try something. I’ll share with you one by one our expecting dams over the next few weeks. See if I can keep up with keeping you posted and everything else.

Round belly Netherite. This girl was mated last year, and should be due some time soon. However, after the confirmation of pregnancy last year, the debate here is “is she still pregnant?” I’m not going to lie, we’ve had a few crias that didn’t look like they were there. So this one for the minute remains a mystery. It will be one of my favourite ones if we get a cria from Netherite this year.

Jump the fence

Oh dear! The little ones keep on jumping the fence to get to the big boys. I'm really surprised they all are getting on so well! I had obvious concerns about moving this lot up, but seeing they're volunteering to be together, I decided to let men mix and observe. Lovely temperaments and hierarchy where size and age age not the defining factors. Guess how's the boss??
