βΉοΈ A business update.
I wanted to share something with you all, as it's something I've been thinking about for some time.
Sadly, I've recently heard from a couple of local dog walkers who have made the really difficult decision to close their businesses from next year. The huge increases in fuel, running costs and the general cost of living have simply made it impossible for them to continue earning a sustainable living. And honestly, that makes me sad.
It's made me look very seriously at my own little business.
I absolutely love what I do, I'm so incredibly lucky to have the clients and dogs that I do. And I never take for granted the trust you put in me to look after your precious dogs. But the reality is the cost of running my business has increased considerably, fuel in particular. And with the amount of driving I do, it's just something I can't continue absorbing myself.
I've tried really hard to keep my prices where they are.But I've reached the point where I have to be realistic. From October, I will therefore be increasing my prices. I want to be completely open about why. I'm not trying to make a fortune, and I'm certainly not trying to rip anyone off. I'm simply trying to earn a fair and honest living from the job I adore, while being able to pay my own bills, run my home and keep my little business going.
I've spoken to many of you already and the lovely positive feedback I've received has meant so much to me. Thank you. I'm also going to be speaking with my accountant before finalising everything, so I can make sure I'm making the right decision for the future of the business.
I really hope you'll understand that this isn't a decision I've taken lightly. I know everyone is feeling the squeeze right now and I completely appreciate that any price increase has an impact. But I also need to make sure that my business is sustainable, so that I can continue doing what I love and looking after your dogs for many years to come.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support, kindness, and trust. It genuinely means the world to me. Here's to keeping our little four-legged family going.
