Was anyone else on the laminitis/equine metabolic syndrome/ insulin dis regulation/ hyper-insulinemia associated laminitis with Clare MacLeod MSc Nutr webinar last night?! It was so informative, and for us extremely well timed! Clare hung around for over an hour afterwards answering everyone’s questions.. including mine about our very own Percy who has been out of sorts a couple of months now.
He has been experiencing some issues since he came back to us and subsequently been diagnosed with PPID and insulin dis regulation. Our vets are supporting us through this - his recent bloods show an improvement in his ATCH levels thanks to half a tablet of pergolide daily…. His insulin however is still worryingly high 😔
I’ve been treating his feet with Red Horse ‘Hoof Stuff’ and ‘Fieldpaste’ - whilst fashioning him some boots to make him more comfortable.
This little pony means the world to us… it’s going to be a long road - however fortunately we have the facilities, time and patience to make managing his condition as manageable as possible 🤞🏼🦄 🤍🏥
