A little blast from the past... ❤️
I stumbled across this old video in the Doggy Adventures archives and couldn't resist sharing it!
Things have changed a lot over the years (and yes... we don't use this pen anymore! 😄), but one thing hasn't changed...
The excitement!
There's nothing quite like opening the gate and being greeted by a wave of wagging tails, happy faces and dogs who are desperate to start their adventure.
It's one of my favourite moments of the day.
People often ask me how I've managed to do this job for nearly 12 years...
The answer is simple.
Because every single day starts with this kind of joy.
Watching dogs bounce with excitement, knowing they're about to spend the day with their friends, exploring, sniffing, playing and making memories... it never gets old.
Thousands of walks later, I still smile every time I see those tails wagging.
Some things change...
The equipment.
The vans.
The routes.
The team.
But the reason we do what we do has always stayed exactly the same.
To make dogs' lives happier, healthier and full of adventure. 💚🐶

What Success Looks Like
People often think success is winning awards.
Don't get me wrong...
I'm incredibly proud of everything we've achieved.
But that's not what success looks like to me.

Success is...
❤️ Rex giving us a goodbye kiss when he used to run away.
❤️ Henry learning how to play with other dogs.
❤️ Wendy smiling despite everything she's been through medically.
❤️ Morag making everyone laugh.
❤️ Ralph racing around with his friends.
❤️ Owners telling us their dog actually gets excited when our van arrives.
Those moments never get old.
That's why we do this.

Dog Walking Isn't About Walking

People think we're paid to walk dogs.
We're not.

We're paid to make hundreds of decisions.
Is this dog comfortable?
Who's walking next to who?
Is that off-lead dog safe?
Should we change route?
Can I see signs of stress?
Is someone becoming overwhelmed?
Who's getting tired?
Who needs encouragement today?
Who needs boundaries today?
Most people only see the happy photographs.
They don't see the constant thinking that goes on behind every walk.
That's why experience matters.
Because sometimes one good decision can prevent a bad day.

There Is No Judgement Here
One thing I've learnt over the years...
Dog owners carry an incredible amount of guilt.
"I should have trained him sooner."
"I've made everything worse."
"He's too reactive."
"She pulls so much."
"I feel embarrassed."
Believe me...
I've been there.
My first dog, Brandy, was attacked by off-lead dogs.
After that he became terrified.
I made mistakes.
Lots of them.
I listened to advice that didn't help.
I forced situations because people told me to.
I still think about some of those moments today.
Then came Mylo.
A completely different dog with completely different problems.
He wanted to fight the world.
Those two dogs taught me one simple lesson.
There isn't a perfect owner.
There are only people trying their best.
That's why at Doggy Adventures you'll never be judged.
Our job isn't to tell you what you've done wrong.
Our job is to help make tomorrow a little bit better than yesterday.

❤️🐾 ACE DAY IS BACK! 🐾❤️
Can we beat £750 this year?
Last year, the Doggy Adventures family came together and did something incredible...
Together, we raised £750 for Animal Care in Egypt (ACE). ❤️
This year, we're hoping to go even bigger.
If you've followed us for a while, you'll know how much this charity means to John and me.
When we visited ACE in Luxor, we saw first-hand the amazing work they do. Every day they provide life-saving veterinary treatment to animals whose owners simply couldn't afford care otherwise.
Dogs.
Cats.
Donkeys.
Horses.
Tortoises.
Thousands of animals every year.
But what touched us most wasn't just the treatment they provide...
It was their mission to educate future generations about kindness, compassion and animal welfare. That's how real, lasting change happens.
❤️ So we're doing it all again!
📅 Saturday 22nd August
Book your dog onto one of our special ACE Day Charity Walks and help us raise as much money as possible.
🐶 Minimum donation: £20 per dog
💷 Cash donations are preferred so every penny goes directly to ACE, but you can also donate through the ACE website and send us a screenshot of your donation.

Whether you donate £20 or £200, every single pound makes a difference to animals who desperately need it.

The face of a very happy dog... ❤️
This is Rosie.
Fast asleep.
Not because she's bored...
But because she's had a day full of everything dogs love.
Adventure.
Friends.
Sniffing.
Exploring.
Playing.
Cuddles.
And, of course, plenty of love while staying with us on her Doggy Adventures holiday.
One of my favourite things to hear from owners is:
"She slept all evening!"
Because a tired dog isn't just a dog that's run around...
It's a dog whose body and mind have been fulfilled.
That's why we don't just focus on exercise.
We focus on enrichment, socialisation, training and giving every dog experiences they'll genuinely enjoy.
The result?
A happy dog.
A content dog.
A dog who's dreaming about tomorrow's adventure... just like Rosie. 🐶💚

He's very quiet.
Never pulls on the lead.
Excellent recall.
Doesn't eat poo.
And hasn't barked once.
Quite frankly... he's the easiest dog we've ever looked after. 💀🤣
