We are a dedicated Veterinary practice, with surgeries in Lancaster, Morecambe, Milnthorpe & Caton. We also have our very own Pet Boutique located at our Lancaster surgery which holds various products to help you and your pet. We stock a wide range of quality food such as Dechra, Specific, James Wellbeloved & Royal Canin. We wish Heather a fantastic retirement after being with us at Bay Vets for 20 years. She started as an ambulance driver and progressed quickly to a qualified veterinary nurse and then to nurse manager and stock control role. Her kindness, care and hard work is very much appreciated and she will be missed greatly.

Keeping dogs happy on rainy days🌧️☔

Autumn is here and while that means cosy evenings and crisp walks, our four legged friends aren't always impressed by the rain especially if rainy days mean more time spent indoors🏠

Here's some ways to keep your dog entertained:

🐾Snuffle Mats - Provides mental stimulation, taps into natural foraging habits and reduces stress.
🐾Puzzle Feeders - Provides enrichment and combats boredom which prevents destructive behaviours like chewing furniture or excessive barking.
🐾Training/Brain Games - Engaging in problem solving tasks tires the dog's brain out and can boost confidence.

Today is a global moment for recognising that animals all over the world are sentient beings and the importance of raising awareness of their welfare and protection. The aim is to bring people together to improve the lives of animals, promote kindness and compassion and encourage us all to speak up for their welfare.

As a veterinary practice we feel very lucky to care for animals every day. From helping them stay healthy and happy to supporting them and their families when they need us most, their wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do💕

Today we're celebrating the incredible people who are often the first friendly face (or voice) our clients meet📞🐶😺

Our receptionists do SO much more than just answering phones and booking appointments. They juggle busy schedules, comfort worried pet parents, keep everyone calm, cleaning and organise emergencies.
They bring kindness, patience, compassion and a smile even on the busiest of days💕

We had a swan brought into our Lancaster branch recently, after suffering an injury to its wing 🦢✨

We took some X-rays to assess the injury and thankfully, there was no fracture! 🎉
We strapped the wing up to give some support and sent this patient onto WolfWood for some much needed rest, and recovery🤍

💚🐰Happy International Rabbit Day🐰💚

Today we're celebrating our wonderful bunny friends and all the joy, mischief and love they bring into our lives!🥕✨

Rabbits are fantastic pets but they also have some specific needs when it comes to their health and wellbeing. Here's some top tips to keep your rabbit thriving:

🌾Diet: Unlimited hay should be the biggest part of their diet. Make sure clean, fresh water is always available.
🐇Bunny Companionship: Rabbits are sociable and generally do best with a compatible, bonded rabbit friend.
🏡Give them Space: They need plenty of room to run, hop, stretch and explore.
🥬Offer variety: Provide safe leafy greens and a small amount of pellets alongside hay.
🦷Check those Teeth: Rabbit teeth grow continuously, so high fibre diets and regular dental checks are essential.
🩺Stay on top of Preventative care: Regular health checks and vaccinations are important to keep your bunny protected.
👀Know what's normal: Changes in appetite, toileting or behaviour can be a sign something is wrong.
