Wednesday wows … it’s not all sunshine and engagements!!

Unfortunately the stress of moving my boy has triggered his ulcers πŸ˜”

He’s a young big horse and although looks big and confident he’s a wee baby really and this move has been a big change for him mentally.

Last week i posted about him being naughty a little but actually he was telling me his ulcers are back.

It’s so important to get to know your horse and understand what’s naughty and what’s physically not right. A wee course of these and all will be well again hopefully 🀞🏼 πŸ’™πŸ’›

As the seasons change, so do our horses’ needs. Here are my top 5 tips to help you and your horse transition smoothly into autumn:

1️⃣ Over reach boots for turnout – changing weather = changing field conditions. Protect those shoes from coming off!
2️⃣ Rain sheet with no fill – don’t be tempted to over-rug just yet.
3️⃣ Increase forage first – before upping hard feed, make sure forage is doing the job.
4️⃣ Fresh stubble fields = fun! – make the most of gallops while they’re there 🐎🐎
5️⃣ Tick off your summer wish list – whether it’s a beach ride, arena hire, or XC schooling, get it done before winter sets in.

Even though I took this video on Monday … my point is if you have a new relationship with a horse get cracking don’t give them weeks or months to settle in , unless there is a injury that requires rest !!
