Our Halloween Pony Day is a full day on the farm. Riders saddle up twice, hear spooky tales from a real storyteller, go trick or treating round the farm, and finish with a costume parade and pony games, with prizes! πŸ†

We're making progress! We've had someone out to look at the site, and now we're looking for a local landscaper to help with two small jobs at Quarry Farm:

1️⃣ Levelling and turfing (or astroturfing) a small area where our cold plunge baths will go
2️⃣ Possibly building a simple shelter to store the biofuel bricks we make from our horses' manure, so they stay dry over the winter

It's a short-term project, paid at a day rate. Do you know someone great? Please tag them or send us a message. Local recommendations are very welcome! πŸ΄πŸ’š

Exploring the Rule of Law βš–οΈ

This week our young people have been working through the RoL Models Challenge, created by the Attorney General's Office Youth Ambassadors to help young people explore fairness, justice and the law in everyday life.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¦ Through a father and son scenario, they talked about what happens when laws aren't clear or fair.
🏫 Through a school scenario, they asked: is it fair if one person gets in trouble and another doesn't for doing the same thing?
Some really thoughtful discussions, and just one of the many opportunities our young people have at Eat Sleep Ride πŸ’›

πŸ“£ There's still time to get involved! The RoL Models Challenge is open to young people aged 11–16 (S1–S4 in Scotland) through schools and youth groups. Young people create a creative project, such as a film, poster, podcast or performance, about why the Rule of Law matters. Everyone who takes part receives a certificate, and the most creative projects can win prizes.

She specialises in sensory, interactive storytelling for all ages and backgrounds, bringing fun, inclusive tales to life for everyone.

What a night at the South of Scotland Thistle Awards 2026! 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨

We were so proud to be named finalists, recognised across the South of Scotland for our commitment to outdoor experiences and tourism.

I was joined at Peebles Hydro by the wonderful Loretta Windsor-Mackenzie of Greentree Wellbeing, one of our coaches for our retreats and leadership work.

Our partnership with Loretta has been a really beautiful one. It has helped us grow what we offer and bring more people to Quarry Farm to reconnect with horses, nature and themselves.

From one pony to an off-grid sanctuary, riding school and retreat space, this recognition belongs to our whole herd: our team, volunteers, young people, partners and, of course, the horses. πŸ΄πŸ’š
