What is Positive Reward Reinforcement Dog Training?
Positive reinforcement is an essential aspect of dog training that involves rewarding good behaviour to encourage its repetition. This form of training focuses on reinforcing desirable actions with rewards such as treats, praise, or toys, rather than using punishment or negative reinforcement methods. Positive reward reinforcement dog training is based on the principles of operant conditioning, which states that behaviours are more likely to be repeated if they are followed by positive consequences.
Additionally, positive reinforcement training is highly effective in teaching dogs new behaviours and commands. Dogs are naturally inclined to seek out rewards, so using rewards to reinforce desired behaviours makes it easier for them to understand what is expected of them. This method of training also helps dogs learn faster and retain the information longer, as they are more motivated to perform the desired behaviours in order to receive the rewards.
Furthermore, positive reinforcement training is a humane and ethical approach to training dogs.

What is Acceptable Dog Etiquette?
First and foremost, it is crucial to ask for permission before approaching a dog, regardless of whether it is accompanied by its owner or not. Not all dogs are comfortable or friendly with strangers, so it is important to respect their boundaries. Approach the owner first and inquire if it is okay to interact with their dog. As a general rule of thumb, avoid approaching a dog that is on a leash without permission, as they may be reactive or in training.

In this video I have told my dog to go further to explore. By using a send off command. He is whistle trained for distance !
Our general off lead walks he will keep me in his sight. I send him off to sniff and regularly proof his recall by having him come back to me when I call him.
He is high a energy, high drive, some will say hyperactive dog,
To get to this, takes patience, commitment to consistent training which should be implemented in stages.
