From welcoming clients on Reception, to working her way through Student Veterinary Nursing and now officially qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse... what an incredible journey! 🎓🐾

Bex has shown dedication, determination, and a whole lot of hard work every step of the way and we couldn't be prouder of everything she has achieved.

We absolutely love having Bex as part of the team and it has been wonderful watching her grow. This qualification is well deserved and a true reflection of all the hard work she has put in over the years.

Proof that there really is nothing Bex can't do! 💪✨

This is a post we've been putting off writing....

Last Friday we said goodbye to our lovely Sophie as she finished her final day at Ark Vets to start an exciting new chapter 🩺

Sophie joined Ark as a Student Veterinary Nurse and through her hard work, dedication and love of caring for animals, she qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse last year. We've had the pleasure of watching her grow into the fantastic nurse she is today and could not be prouder of everything she has achieved.

Sophie has been such a valued part of our team, bringing kindness, compassion, laughter and plenty of smiles along the way. We are incredibly sad to see her go but excited to see what the future holds for her.

It's time for Sophie to spread her wings and take on her next adventure. Although we will miss her dearly, she will always be part of the Ark Vets family🐾💙

Please join us in wishing Sophie all the very best for the future. Thank you for everything Sophie, it's been a pleasure to be part of your journey and we know you will be amazing wherever life takes you next.

🐢 Teddy’s big adventure! 🐢❤️

It’s not every day we have a tortoise brought into the surgery after being found wandering down the road!

Teddy was spotted by a cyclist who noticed he was on a little solo adventure. A lovely lady and her grandchildren then kindly stopped and brought him safely into the practice. 🥰

Of course, the next mission was to find out who this little traveller belonged to!

We put a post on Facebook and, thankfully, Teddy’s owners soon got in touch. They had been looking for him, as he had been missing for nearly a week!

It turns out Teddy is quite the escape artist, and he had managed to travel approximately a mile from home before being found! 🐢💨

We’re so happy that his adventure had a happy ending and that Teddy is now safely back home with his family and his wife Twinkle 🐢 ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone involved — especially the cyclist who spotted him and the lovely lady and her grandchildren who made sure he was safe. Without their help, we may never have reunited Teddy with his owners.

Welcome home, Teddy! We think you’ve had quite enough exploring for one week! 😂🐢💚

We have had a friendly tortoise brought into the surgery. It’s has a microchip but unfortunately not registered.
It was found on Ancoats Lane, Great Warford wandering on the roadside.

We've recently been made aware of reports of scammers targeting owners of missing pets.

Fraudsters may contact owners claiming their lost pet has been found and taken to a veterinary practice, before requesting payment for treatment or care over the phone.

Please be assured that Ark Vets would never ask for payment before reuniting you with your pet.

⚠️Be aware that scammers can make calls appear as though they are coming from a genuine veterinary practice⚠️

If you receive a call about a missing pet and you're unsure whether it's genuine:
✅ Hang up and contact the practice directly using their official phone number
✅ Never feel pressured to make an immediate payment
✅ Always verify the information before sharing payment details

We know how distressing it can be when a pet goes missing and it's upsetting that scammers are attempting to exploit owners during such a difficult time.

Hot Weather Awareness ☀️

With temperatures rising, it’s important to know when it’s safe to head out with your dog. Our handy guide below shows the general risk levels 🌡️

Remember - every dog is different. Flat-faced breeds, older dogs, puppies, and more excitable pets are at greater risk of heatstroke.

Even if it feels manageable to you, it can quickly become dangerous for them. Skipping a walk on a hot day is always the safer choice 💛

Make sure your pet always has access to fresh water, shade, and a cool place to rest 💧

🐶 Dave - 27 years! Started the practice back in 1999 (yes, last century 😅) and still going strong as one of our vets💙
🐶 Ruth - 24 years, from the nursing team to front of house… there's nothing she cant do! 🪄
🐶 Wendy - 21 years as Practice Manager… nothing gets past her (we’ve all tried)👀
🐶 Jeff - 21 years, former co-owner with Dave and now Clinical Director for the past 2+ years… still hasn’t escaped us😄
🐶 Andy - 20 years as one of our fantastic vets, officially part of the furniture at this point🪑

💡 That’s an incredible 113 years of combined experience caring for you and your pets!

We think that’s something really special. Not many teams can say they’ve built such longstanding relationships with their clients and community ❤️
