North Yorkshire dog owners! Are you struggling with your reactive dog?

Meet Blue 💙

Blue is one of the students who came to us through our FREE sessions at Richmond Racecourse!

This beautiful boy is right in the middle of his adolescence, and he can really struggle to disengage from other dogs, which can lead to him overreacting.

But by playing lots of concept games that grow his disengagement skills and tolerance of frustration, look how dramatically this situation improves!

Would you like to come along to our FREE sessions and see dramatic improvements in your dog?

Our next FREE sessions are on Wednesday 9th September at Richmond Racecourse! 🐾

Please, can you explain to me how you think inflicting pain on a dog is going to cure a reactive/fearful state?

I really would love to know what your education is on this matter, as nobody who knows anything about dog reactivity should be teaching in this way!

And to the owners who use these services, please leave now and join our force-free, pain-free, science-based sessions in Richmond, and let’s solve your dog’s issues the right way!

Good evening folks ❤️

Something I absolutely LOVE talking about is behaviour — in dogs and in humans!

Behaviour shapes the brain, and the brain shapes behaviour.

That is SO important to understand.

If your dog hasn’t yet developed strong enough brain systems for things like emotional regulation, impulse control, frustration tolerance or coping with pressure, they are genuinely going to struggle when we ask too much of them.

Think about it like this…

Imagine me telling you that tomorrow you’re sitting a maths degree exam.

If you haven’t developed the knowledge and skills needed to do it, no amount of somebody shouting, correcting you or telling you to “try harder” is going to magically give you those skills.

It’s the same with our dogs.

When we continually put a dog into situations their brain isn’t equipped to cope with, we can overwhelm the systems they already have and potentially make their behavioural struggles even bigger.

That’s why we need to stop looking only at “How do I stop this behaviour?”

And start asking:

“What skills and capacity does this dog need to develop so they can cope differently?”

Because behaviour isn’t just about obedience.

It’s about the brain.
It’s about learning.
It’s about emotional regulation.
It’s about capacity.
And it’s about meeting the dog where they actually are — not where somebody thinks they should be.

And then you get the fu*****ds telling people their dog is a lost cause or that there’s “no hope”.

There is a huge difference between a dog who won’t do something and a dog who, right now, genuinely can’t cope with what’s being asked of them.

Understanding that difference can change everything. ❤️🐾

How do we achieve amazing results with our students?

We look at the dog’s brain and identify which concepts or skills are missing, or which ones are contributing to poor behavioural choices. Then we use games to build and strengthen those concepts.

The goal isn’t simply to stop unwanted behaviour—it’s to develop the skills that make better choices possible.

Because if you don’t build your dog’s skills, you’re walking around with the same brain, the same habits, and you’ll keep seeing the same behaviours day after day.

Change the skills, and you change the choices. Change the choices, and you change the behaviour.
