Meet Pebbles 🐾
This adorable young English Bulldog came to visit us after her family noticed she was showing signs of lameness. At her initial consultation, we carried out a full clinical examination and discussed the potential causes, along with the benefits of advanced imaging to reach a more accurate diagnosis. Pebbles was then admitted the following day so we could investigate further.
On the day of her procedure, Pebbles was welcomed by our registered veterinary nurse Emily, who guided her owners through the process, explained each step of the procedure, and made sure all their questions were answered.
To prioritise Pebbles’ safety, we performed pre-anaesthetic blood tests to assess her overall health and ensure she was a suitable candidate for anaesthesia. Once we had those reassuring results, Pebbles was carefully prepared for her CT scan.
CT imaging allows us to obtain highly detailed, 3D images of bones and joints, making it an excellent tool for investigating lameness. This advanced imaging helps us identify subtle abnormalities that may not be visible on standard X-rays, enabling a more precise diagnosis and targeted treatment plan.
Pebbles handled the entire process brilliantly, keeping her calm and affectionate nature throughout (and completely winning over our team in the process 💛).
After just a few hours with us, Pebbles was ready to be discharged and went home to rest and recover with her brother Axel who was waiting for her 🐶
