So we went from a Leave it and take it, to a more difficult leave , retrieval and recall. Barney and his owner are doing so well piecing all the training together after only 4 sessions!
As Barney had already done some puppy training with me, this is more progression training, introducing more visual cues and some gun dog style training thrown in for a bit of fun 😃🐶

This is a returning customer, Barney and his owner. Barney has hit adolescents and began loosing focus on his owner and pulling more on his lead. So in our sessions we have covered some progression lead walks by changing the pace, doing more recalls, focus techniques and finish with a ball game to include drops. He would never give his owner the ball before but after a couple of sessions he's started to drop the ball and didn't even have treats this time. 🐕🐾

While training has had to take a back seat during the current lockdown. I have taken the opportunity to sign up for several webinars, that cover issues such as resource guarding and separation anxiety. Been a dog trainer, also involves undertaking further training myself to keep up to date with new approaches to dog training and refresh myself with current practices.
I will be back soon 😁🐶

Here's a great idea to find out what motivates your dog. Doggy tapas can be a mixture of cheese, ham, peanut butter, yoghurt, chicken etc
What treat or treats your dog favours the most will be a useful tool when it comes to training.

I did some leave it and drop training with the beautiful Bunny today. First we used small amounts of a reward (cheese) to use as a trade in order to entice Bunny to drop her ball. We then upped the difficulty to leave it by placing the treat on the floor and waiting for Bunny to wait patiently before allowing her to take the treat. 🐶🧀

Great day today with Barney, we covered send to bed which he picked up so quick his owner was able to send him to bed from 6 paces away 👏 we also covered basic targets this helps in so many situations from guiding dog into a crate, off furniture and even building up to muzzle training.
