🌾 Patient Feature – Sprocket
Meet lovely Sprocket, who recently came to see us after his owner noticed him shaking his head following his walk.
The culprit? A grass seed, lodged deep within his ear canal.
As many dog owners know, grass seeds are everywhere at this time of year. Although they may look harmless, they can quickly become painful and often need veterinary treatment to remove them safely.
Over the past few weeks we’ve seen a real increase in grass seed cases, removing them from ears, eyes and even paws. If your pet suddenly starts:
🐾 Shaking their head
🐾 Squinting or rubbing an eye
🐾 Licking or chewing at a paw
🐾 Becoming uncomfortable after a walk
it’s always worth getting them checked.
Thankfully, Sprocket’s grass seed was removed successfully, and after a few well-earned treats, he was back to his happy self! 🤎
