Sorry Iāve been a little quiet on here recently⦠Iāve been doing a lot of thinking about the future of L&I Equine Services and where I want to take things.
Those who know me know Iāve always had a soft spot for the horses everyone else has given up on š¤£. Give me the horse that bites, kicks, wonāt load, has been labelled dangerous, or has been passed from home to home, and Iāll happily spend hours trying to work out what makes them tick.
For too many years Iāve worked with horses, and Iāve realised that the horses who have taught me the most are often the ones that other people have given up on. The ādifficultā horses, the misunderstood ones, the horses carrying emotional or physical baggage, and the horses that just need someone willing to listen.
Moving forward, my focus will be on equine rehabilitation, behaviour, and helping owners better understand their horses. I have a particular interest in horses that are struggling, lacking confidence, carrying trauma, displaying challenging behaviours, or simply need a different approach.
Iām also investing in further education and expanding my knowledge in equine psychology and bodywork because I firmly believe we never stop learning. The more I learn, the more I can help both horses and their owners.
For me, behaviour isnāt about a horse being naughty. Itās communication. Sometimes we just need to slow down, listen, and understand what theyāre trying to tell us.
And before anyone asks⦠yes, Izzy will still be very much involved in the journey ā¤ļøš“. She has grown up surrounded by horses, ponies, mud, hay, and my endless stream of ājust one moreā projects š¤£. Watching her confidence, horsemanship, and love for the horses grow has been one of my proudest achievements, and Iām excited to see where her own journey with horses takes her next.
So hereās to the next chapter of L&I Equine Services š“ā¤ļø
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their horses over the years and supported my journey. I hope youāll enjoy following along as I continue learning, growing, and helping the horses that need it most.
And letās be honest⦠Iāll probably still keep collecting the horses everyone else says are a waste of time š¤£ā¤ļøš“
