Just want to say a big THANK YOU to all those that have been so accommodating while we shuffle and change appointments during these hot days ☀️

I’ve included a video of my boys watching the solar eclipse last night 😆. Anyone else see it?! 🌒

Edit: it’s been pointed out I have put “pease” which should actually say “Please! 😑

Sadly I’m not able to employ a full time receptionist - although, we love seeing our customers anyway! As we have multiple stylists in the salon I’ve tried to simplify drop off/collection.

Can you please ring the bell of the groomer you are booked in with when you arrive. Otherwise, we don’t know who you are there for and it could just be a delivery being made. Your stylist will see to you as soon as they are free.

I’ve put photos of us with our business names along the reception desk & each of us have our own unique bell tone.

Hopefully this will make it nice and clear - particularly to new clients of CK9 KW dog grooming Trim And Tidy Dog Grooming & Annabel’s Canine Styling and less confusing for us in the salon.

Many thanks - Cathy x

CUSTOMER NOTICE

Just a little warning regarding seagulls in the town and on Austin fields. The seagulls have babies at the moment & they are very protective of them.

If you are leaving the salon, or even see babies in town when you’re with your dog, give them a wide birth!

This Friday I’m delighted to announce we will be welcoming Annabel of Annabel’s Canine Styling to CK9!
A little bit about Annabel below & if you here of anyone looking for a dog groomer, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could mention Annabel - supporting small businesses makes a big difference 💕

✨Meet Annabel✨

Hi everyone! I’m Annabel, and I’d love to share a little about myself!

After more than 10 years as a Dental Nurse, l decided to follow my passion for animals and began my dog grooming journey in 2021. I started as a Grooming Assistant at a salon in Ipswich, quickly discovering how much I loved helping dogs look and feel their best. In 2022, I gained my ICMG qualification and became a Certified Professional Groomer 🐩

Since then, I’ve worked alongside experienced groomers in a variety of salons, building my skills and confidence. Now feels like the perfect time to take the next step by becoming self-employed and launching my own little business, Annabel’s Canine Styling 🐾

Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and leaving Dental Nursing confirmed that I wanted a career doing something I truly love. I also share my home with a rescue dog who joined our family a year ago and is my absolute world 🌍

My goal is to give every dog a calm, caring grooming experience while continuing to learn and grow within the industry. I especially enjoy teddy bear cuts, de-sheds, and scissor tidies, and I’d love to explore Asian Fusion styling in the future.

I’m so excited to start this new chapter, share my grooming journey with you, and meet your lovely pups very soon 🐾

Annabel x

Good morning everyone,

I’m sure most of you are aware that we have some very high temperatures forecast this week.

So far, the salon has remained comfortable despite the warm weather, but we haven’t yet experienced temperatures quite this high. We will continue to assess the situation throughout each day and may need to make decisions hour by hour to ensure the wellbeing of every dog in our care.

If the only way to get to your appointment is on foot or in a vehicle without air conditioning, and temperatures exceed what is considered safe, we ask that you please rearrange your appointment. Your dog’s safety and comfort must come first.

A quick guide to exercising and travelling with dogs in warm weather:

🌡️ Below 20°C – Generally safe for most dogs.

🌡️ 20–23°C – Take extra care, especially with puppies, senior dogs, overweight dogs, and flat-faced breeds.

🌡️ 24–27°C – High risk for many dogs. Keep walks short and avoid the hottest parts of the day.

🌡️ 28–31°C – Very high risk. Exercise should be avoided, and dogs should be kept cool and hydrated.

🌡️ 32°C+ – Dangerous for all dogs. Avoid unnecessary travel and outdoor activity.

Please remember that pavements can become dangerously hot even when the air temperature feels manageable. If you can’t comfortably hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

We are all here because we love dogs, so let’s do everything we can to keep them safe and comfortable during this hot spell.

Lastly – enjoy the sunshine while it’s here! ☀️🐾

I’m very proud to announce that Josie has been nominated for the 2026 High Achievement Awards in the Unsung Hero category.

Josie is so deserving of this nomination. She has an incredible work ethic, is always so supportive of the business, and consistently goes above and beyond what any employer could expect.

All of our four-legged customers are treated with such care, love, and respect — exactly as they deserve. And I know that you, our wonderful customers, think the world of Josie too!

I honestly couldn’t ask for anyone better to work alongside. She’s kind, thoughtful, funny, and shares the same love and passion for the job that i do.

I’ll keep you all updated with any more news.

Good luck, Josie — although you’re already a winner in our eyes!!

Today was a whole day of learning, as CK9 hosted the Canine Health & First-Aid course, ran be the incredibly knowledgeable veterinary surgeon, Sophie Bell.

Josie, Lisa and myself have now updated our canine first aid certificates as did many other local professionals. We take the care and responsibility of the dogs we groom very serious and keeping up to date on such matters is essential when looking after your pups.

I also found the course incredibly useful as a pet owner too! For that reason I plan to have Sophie return next year, and will share with you all at the time.
