This result means so much more than just a place… 🥹🏆
This time, I decided to challenge myself and entered 4 classes with 5 different dogs. I know… it sounds a little crazy! 😂
It was also my first time competing at the Elites Level, alongside so many incredibly talented groomers. The standard was incredibly high, so competing at this level was a huge challenge and an amazing experience for me.
So, where do I start? ❤️
I want to start with little Milo. 🐩❤️
🏆 3RD PLACE PEDIGREE CLASS, ELITES LEVEL 🏆
Milo placed 3rd in the Pedigree Elites Level, and I am honestly so pleased with this result.
This was my first time competing with Milo and our first time doing so many details during his groom.
But what makes this result so special to me is the journey behind it. 🥹
I have been grooming Milo since he was just 6 months old. We definitely had our ups and downs. There were days when he didn’t even want to jump into my grooming van, so we had to take a step back and build his confidence and trust in me.
Sometimes I had to change my plans and simply do as much as he was comfortable with that day.
No perfection. No pressure. Just patience, breaks, treats and trust. ❤️
Slowly, it started to pay off. As Milo became more confident and patient, I could do a little more each time. He started accepting different tools, standing better on the table and becoming more comfortable with the whole grooming process.
Milo has a beautiful, thick, curly Poodle coat, but it is definitely high maintenance. For everyday life, we keep him in a shorter, more manageable style so he is comfortable and easier for his mum to maintain.
His mum has always trusted me to choose what I feel is best for Milo, and I am so grateful for that. ❤️
Now, seeing him happily jump into my van, excited to see me, and watching how much his confidence has grown makes me incredibly proud.
For me, the real win was the journey from a 6 month old puppy who sometimes didn’t even want to get into the van, to a young dog who trusts me, enjoys his grooming and can happily stand on my table. 🥹❤️
A huge thank you to Milo’s mum for trusting me with him and allowing me to enter Milo into this competition.
