🪩 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 🪩

Just a quick message to confirm that I am now completely full for June. I don’t have a single appointment available and unfortunately I can’t move appointments around, ask other customers to swap, or squeeze anyone else in.

As you know, I always try my best to help where I can, but this month there genuinely isn’t any wiggle room. Part of that is because I have some time off planned that I’ve been saving for and looking forward to for a very long time. I’d really like to enjoy it without feeling guilty that I’m letting people down.

I completely understand that life happens and things crop up, but if you need to cancel or rearrange, it’s very unlikely I’ll be able to offer another appointment before July.

While I’ve got your attention, can I also ask for a favour?

Please be on time for both drop-off and collection. Last week, more people were late than on time and it made a really stressful week even harder to manage.

Five or ten minutes might not seem much, but when my days are fully booked it can be the only chance I get to have a drink, eat something, or even nip to the loo. Please give yourself a bit of extra travel time because there always seems to be roadworks, traffic lights, or some other surprise waiting in Keynsham!

☀️𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝗽 ☀️

I’m not taking a big summer holiday this year, but I do have lots of little days out planned throughout June, so my time off is a bit scattered across the month.

Because of that, appointment spaces are going to be very limited and I won’t have much wiggle room for reschedules. I completely understand that life happens, but I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that alternative appointments may be tricky to fit in during June.

Imagine it’s a Wednesday morning.

You’re getting ready for your 11am meeting, it’s an important one, and you’ve both agreed the time and date in advance.

You prepare properly. You set up the room, gather everything you need, and review your notes from your last meeting so you’re ready to make the most of the time.

11:00am comes… nothing.

11:05am… still nothing.

That’s okay, people run a few minutes late.
Another few minutes pass. You send a message.

The reply comes back:
“Sorry, I forgot.”
“Sorry, I’m on holiday.”
“Sorry, I’m not feeling well.”

You feel a bit disappointed. It would’ve been really helpful to know earlier, and it’s not always easy to reshuffle your diary. But you understand, these things happen. You reply and offer to rearrange.

Annoying? A little. But manageable. You’ve got other things to get on with.

𝗡𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀…

Your wages are docked for those two hours.

Because of a meeting 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 didn’t attend.

Losing £50 unexpectedly might mean adjusting your weekly budget or going without something you’d planned for. This might happen a few times in the month and then all of a sudden you’re short £150.

It doesn’t feel so small anymore, it has a real impact.

Most people wouldn’t feel that was very fair.

And this is often the reality for someone who is self-employed when an appointment is missed or cancelled with little or no notice.

That time has been set aside and can’t always be filled at the last minute.

So when appointments are missed with little or no notice, this is why the full appointment cost is chargeable.

𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 & 𝗡𝗢 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪𝗦

One of the many reasons I am so truly grateful for my customers is that you NEVER quibble about paying for missed or late notice cancellations. So much so that most people will let me know they can’t make it and say “send me the invoice” and a new date - it honestly takes so much anxiety away when people are so upfront about it.

It’s been on my mind this week as I’m doing my accounts for last year and almost £1000 were in cancellations, imagine if I’d just lost that money, it is in my Terms & Conditions but people could still be awful about it (admittedly they wouldn’t be welcomed back if they were unkind) so thank you, for your kindness and your support. 🙏🏻
