This is what your fry have been missing. 🪱
Micro worms — tiny, wriggling, and completely irresistible to newly free swimming fry and small species. Watch them move. That constant wriggling motion is exactly what triggers a feeding response in fish that would otherwise ignore processed food entirely.
This is a spatula full of micro worms taken straight from one of our UK bred colony systems — heading directly into the tank seconds after this was filmed.
No processing. No freezing. No nutritional degradation.
Just live food doing exactly what live food is supposed to do.
If your fry survival rates aren’t where you want them, the food is almost always the first place to look. Micro worms are one of the most effective and underused first foods in the hobby — and most people don’t discover them until they’ve already lost fry they didn’t need to lose.
Weekly micro worm cultures available now.

Malaysian trumpet snails. Underrated, misunderstood, and genuinely one of the most useful organisms you can have in a predator tank. 🐚
Most people encounter MTS as an accidental hitchhiker on plants and immediately try to remove them. That’s a mistake. Here’s why.
For predatory fish — puffers, cichlids, loaches — trumpet snails are one of the most complete live food options available. Hard shelled, high protein, and naturally sized for a huge range of species. The act of hunting and cracking a trumpet snail activates feeding instincts and natural behaviours that no pellet or frozen food ever could.
Beyond live feeding, their burrowing behaviour aerates substrate, prevents anaerobic pockets from forming, and contributes to a genuinely healthier tank ecosystem. They work while your filter works. Constantly. Without you doing anything.
For larger puffer species whose teeth require regular wear — trumpet snails are one of the most effective natural dental tools in the hobby. The harder shell means more work, more wear, and better long term beak condition without a vet visit.
The snail most people throw away is the one their tank actually needs.
UK bred Malaysian trumpet snails available now on weekly subscription.

POV: You wasted way too much time looking for a reliable live food supplier. 😩
Be honest. How many of these have you done?
❌ Ordered from a private seller who never replied after payment
❌ Bought from a Facebook group listing that turned out to be one person’s spare tank
❌ Waited two weeks for an import that arrived half dead
❌ Found a good supplier and then they stopped selling three weeks later
❌ Drove forty minutes to a specialist shop for the third week running
❌ Settled for frozen because live simply wasn’t available consistently
❌ Asked in six different Facebook groups and got six different answers
The live food supply problem in this hobby is real. Inconsistent. Unreliable. Frustrating. And completely unnecessary.
Jack’s Aquatics exists because we lived every single one of those problems ourselves and decided to build something better. UK bred colonies. Managed systems. Fixed weekly dispatch. Same quality every single time.
No chasing. No uncertainty. No more wasted afternoons searching for something that should just arrive at your door.
The search ends here. 🐌📦
Weekly subscriptions now open. Fixed monthly pricing. No contracts.

A story as old as time. 😂
Every fish keeper has had this exact conversation. The “LIVE ANIMALS” tape does not help. The Jack’s Aquatics branding does not help. Nothing helps. You just have to let it play out and then explain for the fourteenth time what a bladder snail is and why you need 100 of them delivered weekly.
They never fully understand. The fish do though. And that’s what matters. 🐡🐌
Weekly live food subscriptions available now.
Your housemates will adjust. Eventually.

POV: You finally set up a Jack’s Aquatics weekly subscription. 😌
Remember when Saturdays meant driving to three different pet shops, getting told they were out of stock, and coming home empty handed while your puffer judged you silently from the glass?
Not anymore.
Now the snails come to you. Every week. Without thinking about it. Without planning around it. Without the panic reorder at 11pm on a Sunday.
You have time now. Time to scroll. Time to sit down. Time to actually just watch your fish instead of desperately trying to feed them.
This is what a structured weekly live food subscription actually looks like in practice. Not just better fed fish — though that too. But a genuinely simpler, calmer hobby.
That’s what we built Jack’s Aquatics for. 🐌📦
Weekly subscriptions open now. Fixed monthly pricing. No contracts. Just snails at your door every week without fail.

It starts with one small tank and a betta. It always starts with one small tank and a betta. 😂
Nobody sits down and thinks “I’m going to end up with three tanks, a puffer, a snail subscription, and a micro worm culture on my kitchen counter.” And yet here we are.
This is the hobby. It doesn’t stay small. It never stays small. One fish becomes five, one tank becomes three, beta flakes become a weekly Jack’s Aquatics subscription and a thriving micro worm colony you have to explain to every person who visits your house.
No regrets. Not a single one. 🐡🐌🪱
If your setup is currently somewhere between left and right — we’ve got the live food side covered. Weekly snail subscriptions and micro worm cultures available now.

“I’m fine. I’m totally fine.” 😭
POV: You have spent the last several months doing all of the following in search of bladder snails.
❌ Driving to three different pet shops every week
❌ Calling ahead and being told they’re out of stock
❌ Fishing through a community tank with a net at 10pm
❌ Buying a mystery snail and hoping for the best
❌ Googling “bladder snails near me” at midnight
❌ Rationing four snails across a week like it’s wartime
❌ Watching your puffer stare at you with quiet disappointment
When this entire time Jack’s Aquatics has been sending fresh UK bred bladder snails straight to your door. Every week. On a fixed schedule. For a flat monthly price.
Months. You did all of that for months.
It’s okay. You know now. The pet shop era is over. 🐌📦
Weekly subscriptions open now — sort it today and never search again.

This is what micro worms do to your fry. 💪😂
One Jack’s Aquatics delivery and suddenly the smallest fish in the tank has got absolutely no business looking like that.
Micro worms are one of the best first foods you can give newly free-swimming fry — tiny, wriggling, irresistible, and packed with the nutrition growing fish actually need. The results speak for themselves apparently.
If your fry aren’t thriving, it’s probably the food. Dry powder and crushed flake only goes so far. Live micro worms trigger a feeding response that processed food simply can’t replicate — and the growth rates show it.
UK bred. Colony managed. Delivered to your door. 💪🐟

POV: Your fish the moment they get a taste of Jack’s Aquatics bladder snails for the first time. 🐡🕺
That’s it. That’s the whole post.
Jokes aside — this is genuinely what live food does to predatory fish. The feeding response, the activity levels, the sheer enthusiasm compared to pellet feeding time is night and day.
Once your fish has had live bladder snails the pellet pot might as well be invisible. They know what real food is now and they will glass surf until you sort it. 🐌
Weekly bladder snail subscriptions open now. UK bred, colony managed, dispatched every week without fail.
Your fish will thank you. Probably with this exact energy. 💃
