✨Chester’s progress deserves to be shared ✨

I’m posting these photos of Chester today, and I want to be completely honest… I’m not posting them because I think this is my perfect groom. Am I 100% happy with every little bit? No. And that’s okay. ❤️

I’m posting them because I am SO proud of Chester and the progress he has made.
The first time I ever groomed Chester, I genuinely got to a point where I thought, “I’m not going to be able to finish this.” I had to call his mum to come back and help me, because he really wasn’t comfortable with the grooming process.

And I’m not going to lie… Chester still isn’t a fan of it! 😂 We still have a long way to go, and there are definitely things we need to keep working on.
But today, I felt like we made a little breakthrough. 🥹

He was more settled, I felt like he trusted me a little bit more, and for the first time I really felt like we could be heading in the right direction.

And that’s why I needed to post these photos.
Because grooming isn’t always about getting the cut 100% perfect.

Sometimes it’s about being kind, loving, patient and understanding.
It’s about taking your time.
It’s about listening to the dog in front of you.
It’s about making them feel safe.
It’s about building trust.
And sometimes, it’s about celebrating the tiniest little steps forward. 🐾❤️

For me, Chester’s groom today wasn’t about creating the most perfect finish, it was about helping him feel safe and understood, and showing him that grooming doesn’t have to be something he needs to be terrified of.

So no, this may not be my “perfect groom”…
But it’s a groom I’m really proud of, because I’m proud of Chester. 🥹❤️

We’ve still got a long way to go, but today felt like a little win — and sometimes the little wins are the biggest ones. 🐾✨

Hope everyone has had a great start to the week😁

Now I know this might sound a little crazy as we are only in July but Christmas will be here before we know it and I know how much all of my clients love their dogs looking and smelling good for the festive period🎄🐶🐾...believe it or not my diary is already filling up for Christmas so if you want an appointment please send me a message as I really don't want any of you missing out.

Please note I will be having a bit of time off over Christmas meaning appointments will be limited.

Your dogs’ safety and wellbeing will always come before anything else. No amount of money is more important to me than keeping them safe, comfortable, and cared for during this heat.

I truly appreciate your patience and support — it means so much to me. Please keep your pups cool, hydrated, and out of the heat as much as possible 🥵🌡🐶🖤

🐾❤️ Can We Normalise Not Criticising Small Businesses for Putting Welfare Before Profit? ❤️🐾

Every time a dog walker cancels a walk because it’s too hot…
Every time a groomer reschedules because the salon is unsafe…
Every time a pet professional says “No” to something that could compromise an animal’s welfare…

There seems to be someone ready to complain.

The reality is that every cancelled walk, postponed groom, or refused booking costs a small business money.

We don’t make those decisions because it’s convenient.
We don’t make them because we don’t want to work.
And we certainly don’t make them because we’re trying to be difficult.

We make them because the animals in our care cannot advocate for themselves.

No dog has ever suffered because they missed a walk.
No dog has ever been harmed because their groom was delayed a few days.

But dogs can and do suffer from heatstroke, stress, injury, exhaustion and other preventable welfare issues when people prioritise profit, convenience or customer expectations over common sense.

Small business owners who work with animals carry a huge responsibility. We see these pets as individuals, not pay cheques.

So if your dog walker, groomer, trainer, sitter or daycare provider makes a decision based on welfare, please remember:

🐾 They are likely losing income by making that choice.
🐾 They are putting your pet’s wellbeing first.
🐾 They are doing exactly what you trust them to do.

I’d much rather lose a day’s earnings than risk a dog’s health.

Welfare before profit. Every single time. ❤️
