20+ years I COME TO YOU!

✅ WhatsApp me for an initial chat 073 779 770 83. I have over 20 years experience as a dog behaviourist and training both Dogs and People to build a strong relationship. I have worked with most breeds of dogs and helped owners deal with all types of challenges including: Pulling on Leash, Dog Reactivity, Excessive Barking, Jumping Up on People, Separation Anxiety, Nipping or Play Biting, Begging,

Destructive Behaviour, Biting and of course ...Not Coming When Called! I am internationally certified in Dog Training, I completed my formal certification in Switzerland where I have been training dogs for the past 8 years and previously I trained dogs in Australia for 10 years! I moved to Kelvedon, Essex in United Kingdom in 2022.

✅ HOW CAN I HELP? I offer a number of services to help you have a happy relationship with your dog so you can go on great adventures and have a well behaved member of the family. Initial Consultation - Dog Behaviour Assessment (1-2 hours)
I come to your home to talk with you, find out your concerns and goals and do an initial assessment with your dog/s - to find out how to best help you and address any behavioural issues. This can be to sort out a particular challenge you are facing (leash pulling, reactivity, what to feed your dog, what toys/leashes etc to buy) or to have a broader program to build a strong relationship between you, where your dog knows you will keep them safe and be their guide in your home and on your adventures. My most popular programs are:

⭐ 30 Day Trusted Leader Program (1-3 sessions per week - tailored to your needs/preferences)

This program is designed to help your dog understand that you will keep them safe and will be their trusted leader and guide. You will understand how your dog thinks, what they need from you and also develop any skills you might need including leash handling, communicating via body language etc. This becomes the foundation we then build on for all training commands/cues - including loose leash walking, calmness when seeing other people/dogs, sit, down, wait etc and also addressing any potential breed specific challenges.

⭐ 30 Day Perfect Puppy Program (normally 3-4 sessions per week as needed)

This program is designed to set you and your new puppy up for success including: sleeping schedules, training program - what to train and when ( commands/cues), toilet training schedule, feeding, introduction to leash training using either collar or harness, how to select the right toys, dealing with nipping, teething, sleeping dens/crates and addressing any potential breed specific challenges. I use a combination of proven science based dog psychology and positive training methods to help you and your dog understand each other, have fun and be safe. As we know well, a Happy Dog is a Happy Life! I look forward to meeting you and your dog/s. All the best, Ann-Marie Purvis

Are you managing global teams but struggling to have calm, enjoyable walks and homelife with your dog? 💼🐾

For high-achieving professionals and executives, strategic clarity is a given. You are used to reading complex patterns, fostering collaboration, and maintaining composure under pressure.

But when you come home to a dog showing severe reactivity, lunging on the lead, or guarding behaviours, that sense of predictability and order can evaporate. It is exhausting, stressful and can feel deeply disruptive to your home life.

Most dog training fails you because it focuses solely on teaching the dog, and ignoring how differently you learn. If a trainer has ever stood in your garden lecturing you or handing out rigid, dominance-based advice, you know exactly how frustrating that is.
Modern leadership is about influence and mutual trust, not forcing compliance. For both people and dogs.

At Kelvedon Dog Training, I do things differently.

I operate at the intersection of canine neurology and high-level human performance. Alongside my 30 years of hands-on dog training and certifications, my people based credentials include:
• A Degree in Education and Training (Certified Adult Educator)
• Global Executive Coaching Qualifications with the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
• 25+ years experience coaching senior leaders within global organisations.
• MBA – providing some helpful problem solving skills into the mix

I don't run group classes.

Instead, I design bespoke, one-to-one 30-Day Programs for analytical minds who value structure, empathy and scientific depth.
Because I understand advanced adult learning, I package complex canine behavioral science into clear and effective frameworks.

I don't just tell you what to do; I systematically coach you through the precise physical coordination and muscle memory required for fluid, confident lead handling. More importantly, I show you how to leverage your executive leadership skills to project a Trusted Leader presence to your dog and remain a calm, supportive anchor for your dog in moments of crisis.

My dog behavioral qualifications were earned under the exceptionally strict animal welfare frameworks of Switzerland (Certified Behaviourist, CH 2015), where force-free, psychological alignment is the legal standard. I bring that precision, empathy and effectiveness directly to your doorstep.

If you are ready to bring structure, composure, and a games based fun approach to your dog’s rehabilitation and training, let’s connect.

I serve a 30-minute drive radius in and around Kelvedon, including Chelmsford, Colchester, and the surrounding areas.

Here are some (potential!) truths about your dog that might help you live with them better. 👋

🔸 You'll never be more exciting than the environment. Instead, it's about doing a variety of interesting things (including recall exercises) that fulfil your dogs desires in a way that means they want to come back to you.

🔸 Prey drive doesn't mean your dog likes to chase birds, it means the only thing they're thinking about when prey animals are around is hunting. It's an obsession. Your dog just likes chasing things, so let’s tap into that …it's a recall exercise + other games too.

🔸 Your dog pulls because they're anxious, overwhelmed or bored, not because they can't walk nicely on a loose lead. You'll never conquer loose lead walking if your dogs brain is focused on avoidance or seeking stimulation elsewhere...

🔸 Your dogs breed matters. Labradors retrieve, Terriers destroy, Hounds track, Guarding breeds... well, guard. You can't remove those things. Use them? Absolutely. But get rid of them? Best of luck. 🫣

🔸 If one incident sets your dog back to the point where you're back at the start, they don't have a reactivity problem - they have a resilience problem. The only way to solve that is through a sequence of steps with safe exposure.

Happy to expand on these as needed!

🐶💧 Blue-green algae
Warm weather encourages the growth of cyanobacteria (commonly known as blue-green algae) in still or slow-moving water like the ponds and lakes across Epping Forest. It is harmful to dogs and people.

Cyanobacteria are naturally occurring and thrive in nutrient-rich water. Some produce toxins that can be fatal to dogs affecting the liver or nervous system - even if the water looks clear. There’s no antidote, so early veterinary treatment is vital.

The UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology warns that cyanobacterial blooms are a common and growing issue across the UK. The safest option is often to keep dogs out of ponds and lakes entirely. For more advice, see here: https://f.mtr.cool/wvdffhswff

Many dog owners are surprised to learn that our four-legged friends can also unintentionally harm freshwater habitats: flea treatments can leach into the water killing aquatic life, paws can stir up sediment affecting plant growth, and excited splashing can disturb water birds and their young.

Find me one person who’s truly fixed their reactive dog with advice from ChatGPT. I bet you can’t.🫣

Unfortunately ChatGPT can’t fix your reactive dog, here’s why.

ChatGPT just collects information from various sources on the Internet and provide you with the most popular answers.

If those answers worked, nobody would have a reactive dog, because absolutely everybody has googled how to fix it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Because it will pull answers from multiple sources, this means you are getting lots and lots of inconsistent info which will just baffle your dog’s head.

GPT also doesn’t know your dog, and the little nuances that need to be factored into the training approach.

If you are truly serious about fixing it, you need a Dog Behaviourist/trainer with proof that they have fixed reactivity hundreds of times, you need science backed, effective and kind solutions, be supported to do what that trainer teaches you, and then you need to do that consistently.

It is possible.

Reach out for a new way of living and stopping the chaos.

How to stop your dog barking in the house?!

One piece of the puzzle is your dog might not be properly switching off.
It just looks like they are.

Lying down.
Closing their eyes.
Seeming “calm.”

But then…
Up again.
Emotionally reactive again.
Unable to settle.
and you're back to managing their behaviour.

✅ Most dogs should be getting around 16-20 hours of proper sleep a day.

A dog that isn’t getting that…
Doesn’t reset enough for you to just keep to the same routine each day.
You will have to keep adjusting depending on how your dog is. Constantly managing them.🫣

Not enough sleep?
Everything carries over to next walk, half of the day or even to the next day entirely.
🐾 Frustration.
🐾 Arousal.
🐾 Sensitivity.

So each day starts a little higher than the last.

✅ I can help, WhatsApp 07377977083

I want your dog to properly switch off… and come back balanced the next day.
Because when they’re actually sleeping enough, everything else becomes easier to live with.

Cheers Ann-Marie
P.S. Just remember becoming a 'modern dog parent' is just one epiphany away👋🐈🐾

👉Should you move a sleeping puppy?

No, never forcibly move a sleeping puppy. Being picked up mid sleep creates exactly the kind of startled unsettled experience you are trying to prevent during rest.

✅ But here is what you need to know!

That random nap on the stuffed animal, the foam cushion, the middle of the floor, it is going to cost you.

Not because the spot is wrong. Because that nap will be interrupted.

A noise, a movement, someone walking through the room. Something will end it before it is done. And a puppy who needed ninety minutes of real sleep but got twenty minutes of random sleep is not a rested puppy. They are an overtired chaotic puppy who cannot regulate, cannot think and cannot stop biting long enough for anyone in the house to breathe. Enter the chaos! 🫣🫣

👉Think about the mom who lets her toddler fall asleep in the car five minutes from home. She knows exactly what she is walking into. A child who got just enough sleep to not be tired anymore but nowhere near enough to actually be rested. She will pay for that car nap all afternoon.🙏

Your puppy’s random nap is that “car nap” .

The smarter play is learning to read the signs before the crash happens. Puppies have roughly sixty minutes of wakeful activity before their body needs to shut down. When you see the signs, the slowing down, the zoning out, the sudden biting spike, that is your window.

Get them to their designated sleep space before they crash somewhere random and fragmented.✅✅✅

✅Let them sleep when they fall asleep naturally. But work hard to make sure they fall asleep in the right place at the right time. That is the whole game.

👉👉Send this to a new puppy owner who doesn’t know this… letting them sleep anywhere will land them with a crazy, biting and chaotic puppy. 🤗

👉Let me be your guide to how puppies learn.!

30 Day Trusted Leader Puppy Program will unlock understanding your puppy’s behavior!!

Cheers Ann-Marie 👍

🐾 More Training ISN'T always the Answer

Struggling with a dog that’s:
❌ Hyperactive and impossible to settle?
❌ Pulling on walks and ignoring your recall?
❌ Obsessed with other dogs, scents, or the environment?
❌ Leaving you exhausted and feeling like nothing works?

Here’s the truth: A dog’s behaviour is a result of the life they live. And constant training won’t fix the root underlying causes.

In the 30 Day Trusted Leader Program, in tailored 1 to 1 sessions, you’ll learn:

1️⃣ Outlets: Tailored, breed-specific activities to release frustration and reduce behaviour issues.
2️⃣ Mental Stimulation: Simple brainwork that calms your dog, improves recall, and makes them easier to train.
3️⃣ Arousal Management: Master your dog’s energy levels to prevent bad days from spiralling into bad weeks.

You’ll leave knowing exactly how to tackle stress, hyperactivity, and "untrainable" moments—without piling on endless training sessions.

💡 Imagine:
✔️ Walks where your dog stays focused on you.
✔️ A calm, content dog who rests soundly after engaging activities.
✔️ Finally feeling in control, without feeling overwhelmed.
✔️ All while having FUN!! 👍

⚠️ New Limited Places are available starting from Wednesday 3 June.
