Hogan.
Rising 24 and (theoretically) retired from stud duties (much to his disgust!)
But looking absolutely spot on going into another Scottish Winter.
Hogan lives out 24/7/365, in the Winter he’s rugged up with ad lib hay and a feed on the very coldest days. The easiest, kindest stallion I’ve ever met!

Baby update….
The twins Daisy and Poppy, and their big sister Lily are enjoying the (thankfully) cooler Summer we’ve had here in Scotland.
Whilst most of the UK and Wales has suffered from extreme temperatures and has scorched yellow grass, fortunately the temperatures here have been far more comfortable for the horses (and us!) and the grass has continued growing and is lush and green still.

The babies know what they want….mainly the tastiest grass which (of course) is on the other side of the fence.
Occasionally an obliging human slave pulls some as a tasty treat….

This was a really funny moment-Lily and her half sister Poppy “sharing” some grass picked from the track….

Today I was again reminded that some people help purely from the heart….
Daisy (twin one) has never looked quite as “well” as twin two Poppy (who was born smaller but overtook her sister at a matter of weeks.
While both have always had ad lib hay/Haylage and have been fed well, and wormed as we always do with our youngsters, while Poppy is sleek and shiny, Daisy has held onto the last of her winter coat that bit longer, and isn’t quite as “round” as I’d like. Our vet cast an eye over her recently and reassured me that she’s fine, but I still did a little research on what could help. Equinectar came up: it’s a hind gut supportive feed additive aimed at horses with gut issues or those needing a little support. It’s also apparently amazing at improving coats!
Almost miraculously (or is it fb keeping an eye on what we are researching? Remind me never to research girth length 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻‍♀️) an ad came up yesterday of a lady locally with a full container of Equinectar and tonight we picked it up, along with the pump dispenser she’d bothered herself to look for.
I’ll be doing “before and after” photos and am hoping she gets a sleek Summer coat for at least a few weeks before her Winter coat makes an appearance (probably around mid-July lol!)
Thankyou to this lovely lady who I’ve promised I will keep updated, just hope Daisy and her field companions all like it because individual feeding is impossible in a gang of 3 youngsters and 2 mares so they will also benefit as it will go into all their feeds.
Photo is of Daisy: you can see she’s clinging onto the last bits of her winter coat on her sides and along her spine, here’s hoping the Equinectar works its magic.
♥️♥️♥️
