Wow…. This is scary!
Yesterday, I was completely fooled.
I was scrolling and stopped on a dog trainer's video.
It was polished.
Professional. Confident.
The advice sounded logical. The delivery was flawless.
Hundreds of thousands of views. Thousands of comments saying "this finally worked!"
This video was slick and obviously this trainer was amazing!
Then I watched the next video.
"Now pull on their tail."
I froze.
Do what now?
I went back. Watched again.
Then I started really looking.
The face never quite blinked right, it didn’t really blink.
The voice was just a little too perfectly smooth and comforting.
The hands? Gloves on.
The dog? Well, that German Shepherds face was looking right down the camera.
The back hocks looked “off”.
There was no dog trainer.
Everything, every single thing was AI generated.
Every video. Every lesson. Even some reply in the comments.
All leading to a product.
And for 30 seconds, it had really had me. And I do this for a living!
This was by far the slickest, most professional training video I had ever watched.
Which made me think, if I can be taken in, for even a minute, what chance does a stressed, exhausted owner have at 11.47 at night, desperately searching for help?
This isn't about being anti AI. It’s here. I’ve made my views perfectly clear in the past and I do not use it to produce my graphics. Personal choice.
But it can now fake expertise so convincingly that trust is built in seconds, before you even think to question who you're listening to.
And now, the “expert” on your screen might not even exist.
The days of easily spotting it are well and truly over.
And dogs pay a very real price for that “advice” from someone who was never real in the first place.
