A little preparation can make a big difference in helping your pets feel safe and comfortable.

🏡 Keep pets indoors and create a cosy, quiet space where they can hide and relax.

🎵 Close curtains and pop on some music or the TV to help muffle the bangs.

🐾 Consider calming products to help your pets cope with the noise and stress.

🦔 HEDGEHOG SOFT RELEASE SITES NEEDED! 🦔

We’re looking for suitable soft release sites for hedgehogs!

A soft release site gives young hedgehogs a safe place to adjust to life back in the wild after captive rearing. Some hedgehogs may disappear off into the wild straight away, while others may return for food or shelter for a little while as they settle in.

We’re ideally looking for:
• Large, wildlife-friendly gardens or suitable rural/semi-rural properties
• Good surrounding hedgehog habitat, with plenty of cover and places to forage
• Access to other suitable habitat- hedgehogs need to be able to move beyond the garden
• No busy roads immediately nearby
• No regular use of slug pellets, pesticides, or other harmful chemicals
• Someone happy to collect the hedgehog as well as provide food and fresh water during the settling-in period and keep an eye on their visitor

We provide the hedgehog and guidance on the soft-release process.

If you think your garden or property could be suitable, please send us an email at [email protected] and you’ll receive an automatic reply with some questions about the site. Please note that we cannot deal with the soft release scheme via facebook messenger, phone calls, or our main email address.

Please don’t be disappointed if your garden isn’t suitable. We have to consider things such as nearby roads, habitat connectivity, and other risks before choosing a release location.
